There's actually a bunch of characters in NES and SNES Punch-out that are straight up just headswaps of each other. So you could make an amalgamated moveset for them and make them alt costumes of each other. Like Super Macho Man, Soda Popinski and Masked Muscle. Or Bald Bull and Mr. Sandman...

His schtick actually makes him perfect for an AT. He gets summoned, starts charging up the Bull Charge, and when he charges, you either perfectly time an attack to send him flying, or you mistime it and get sent flying.

Mr. Sandman is the original Punch-Out champion though. Being the final boss of the first arcade game. Super Macho Man was the boss of the 2nd arcade game. Making him a Johnny-come-lately.

I still think you should use the story mode for unlocking characters in story mode. Let the mutiplayer modes have everyone just be unlocked.
