Maybe final smashes are always on. Or maybe this is just one of the ways you can play as her. I'm thinking, you can chose to start as ZZS, without Samus.

I REALLY was not expecting this. Whenever people mentioned this as an option, I thought they were nuts. That's a terrible way to transform, imo.

There are only two things I can think of that would make this work okay.

1. Zamus plays exactly the same way as Samus. Seems VERY unlikely.

2. Zamus sucks, so you wouldn't want to actually play as her anyway. She flies farther when struck and takes more damage than she would with the suit on.

Doesn't really matter to me though cause I don't like Samus.

But that limits Zamus so much as far as availability goes that it seems almost pointless to include her at all. If you decide you really like Zamus, you have to start the game out as Samus and just wait for a Smash Ball. And then fight tooth and nail for it.

At least, that's what it looks like. I guess we'll have to wait and see what other options there are for her, if any.

Zero-Suit Samus will probably have a charge-up move that is able to restore her to her armored self. Hopefully there will be a way to be Zero-Suit Samus from the beginning of the battle, such as holding down A.

I don´t think that she´s deliberately made to be a bad character either way, though. Otherwise she wouldn´t have been showcased along with the other newcomers, kicking Pit around and all.

I think it kind of blows. . .alil. I play with items and to be blunt I would want players to play with items as well if I used a s*** load of time making them.

You want Zero? Play as Samus and get the smash ball. . . interesting.

Black/light sakurai NEVER said anything about this on his old site the closet thing he said was under the Zero suit Samus characte section and that was.

"Dont worry, you'll still be able to play as standard Samus too."

That dosnt mean that this is the only way to play samus,a nd before you go qouting YES I AM PISSED ABOUT IT IF ITS THE ONLY WAY.

Zero Samus is extremely weak, it would only make sense to make it a drawback from using Samus's Final Smash.

Did anyone here actually play Metroid Zero? Do you people actually know how helpless it feels when you're in the Zero Suit and you're stuck on a space pirate ship?

yes... it was horrible, then you get the Gravity suit, space jump and Plasma beam.

. . .You forgot the "Zero aint a pure character addition" and the "Samus will lost her suite under sertain contions" part. . . .:p

Zero being a side effect of the FS fits right into that. . .

I for one think this update was great. Samus looks Powerful as hell doing that final smash. I also think final smashes should be looked at to use in tournaments because it looks like they will be a very important part of brawl and character balance. True, getting a smash ball takes abit of luck which sucks but it also takes abit of skill to beat people to them or hold ground of the stage to keep people from getting one before you. Also what does Zero Suit Samus get for a Final smash I wonder? If she does get one at all.

Edit: LOL at throwing your armor at people when your done with Zero Laser.

i kinda like the Update this way the smash attack looks really powerfull with the Suit falling apart
and i tink you have the ability to play as zero suit samus from the start by holding a button like you did With Sheik in melee


looks even more powerfull than a Kamehameha blast times 10

Why, she gets to use Crystal Flash to heal and restore the Power Suit, thus transforming her back into regular Samus, of course.

(The preceding is pure speculation. But it's what I hope will happen.)
