Why don't people offer suggestions about how he might be different or something productive instead of creating a new thread that's like "Has Luigi been confirmed? Is he going to be in? Unlike Waluigi, who was just designed to give Wario one more thing to rival Mario in, Luigi's a fan fave that's been shown to hold his own co-starring with Mario in games and as a stand alone hero. Besides, he was in the first two. Therefore, I'd say that there's a 95% chance of Luigi returning to tag-up with his brother, then beat him back down.

Last year (2006) Nintendo released a set of 10 DVDs featuring Pikachu. To decide on what Pokemon to base the next set, they made a poll. Jigglypuff won. Jigglypuff is still VERY popular. Jigglypuff will be back.

Luigi was one of the original 12, and he's definitely going to be back, he'll be most likely hidden though. I really want to see his Vacuum Cleaner play a part this time. He should really stary away from his bro Mario as much as possible if they ever want him be considered a favourite.

I don't like using Luigi, I prefer beating him up with Mario, or having a Mario and Luigi team with the computer as Luigi.

His chances of returning are quite high though, and he's Mario's brother.

I very much doubt Luigi will be a secret character.
Most of the secret characters will be upgraded or removed. The only ones I can imagine staying in the same spot are Ganondorf and Mewtwo.
