Not that she ever lost it (at least as far we know yet).

Sakurai’s latest update is all about Samus, the armoured, flame shooting, charge shotting Samus that’s been blasting people for the last 2 games, and she’s back, as this update proves.

She’s been shined right up with a look that looks like it’s from Metroid Prime 2. Not a lot has changed from what we can tell, attack-wise. She seems to have a fair few old moves, including her charge shot, and her forward arial attack. One screen has me wondering though, I think it might be her grapple after landing, but it still could be a few things, like an arial charge shot.

Don’t forget, if you feel like discussing this, and all other updates, head to the topic on smashboards, which can be found here.

They scratched the extended grapple beam trick from the PAL version of Melee, do you think they’ll forgo this little easter egg in Brawl as well?

And what are you guys’ opinions on missile canceling? I feel that it’s a skillful tactic that should remain, but on the other hand, it could be viewed as an exploit to be removed.

Hmmm….with this picture, this could only mean that Samus may have a similar power to Zelda.

In Super Smash Bros, Melee , when you press Down B, you transform from Zelda to Shiek. With Shiek, you have a completly different move set. And, they do count as two different characters. You could change back to Zelda whenever needed (but what shiek does that, now? :p)

Now, with Samus, she could have the same function, but there could be a twist. In her original games, the only time she breaks off her armor is when:

- she dies

- situation seems critical

Now, if this property seems trye in Brawl, then players would have one time to do it and that’s it. Once broken off, she can’t no longer be samus. If this is true, then this would give gamers to think twice as to what to do.

Play with a heavy armor Samus, or play a faster Samus? Far distance attacks or close range tactics?

The choice could be up to you….

It doesnt seem to me like Samus is returning in her siut that resembles the one from Metroid Prime 2.
Her Metroid Prime 2 and 3 suit is much cooler:

There is a difference there.
What about costume changes? What if there could be different costumes for each character?
(I’ve mentioned this before)

WOW Rockin, you really thought it through! YOU WORK FOR NINTENDO! I hope it’s not like zelda and more like Link and young Link (and possibly wind waker link!). Samus was already fairly agile, and i like her guns being combined with her agility.

“zero suit samus is the hottest”

Lies. =p You can’t beat her in that suit. :O Even in the middle of Phendrana, Samus + suit =p sexy enough to melt the icecaps.

I say she’s a seperate choice chair-or some kind of costume for ZSS.

I think the photographers are just being tricky in the last image, and that spark is just a distant star. I wouldn’t be surprised.

There’s been discussion going on and the truth is, this is Samus’ Zero Mission Suit, not her Prime 2 suit, which makes sense considering that Zero Suit Samus is another character.

If they made Zero Suit Samus a transformation, I’d be disappointed. Samus is already a great character on her own, and there’s a chance you may end up with what happened with Shiek/Zelda where almost everybody only used one of them anyway. Plus, the way they keep going on about it, still leaves a mighty good chance she’ll be a separate unlockable.

I have six words for the possible betterment of this game.
Sylux,
Noxus,
Trace,
Spire,
Weavel,
Kanden.
Any one or two of those six bounty hunters from Metroid Prime Hunters would be great to add on.

that spark of light in the picture must mean that she has one of those big round balls coming

I’m going to agree with Lanowen;
the ’star’ appears to have no lighting effect on her cannon, leading me to believe that it’s not a part of her current animation.

So… I´m imagin that the Final smash that we see in the movie, is the final smash of zero suit samus? or the MPH2 samus?
in that case what will be the ZSS final smash if she is alredy in that sexy skiny suit?

Im sure Sakurai can come up with something.

Maybe it’s a landing animation while her charge shot is charged.

FIRST OFF, ZERO SUIT SAMUS’S FINAL SMASH WILL PROBABLY BE SOMETHING WITH WHIPPING AROUND PEOPLE, WITH HER LASER WHIP! ALSO, WATH THE NINTENDO WORLD MOVIE AGAIN. AT ONE POINT SAMUS IS DOING A FLIP, BUT IT IS VERY SLOW, I THINK THERE IS A ZERO GRAVITY LEVEL!
