Prayers of Pit

When people heard of the sequel to Smash Bros Melee, many people prayed that Pit, star of Kid Icarus would be in the game. Sakurai answered those prayers, and Pit’s amongst the other fighters. However, parheps it’s not Sakurai we should be thanking but the goddess Palutena, as todays new video shows.

This update is really cool. I'm pretty sure this means Palutena isn't playable though.

I actually didn't get much from this update.

I'm really sick of updates being based on the SubpSpace single player. I'drather see it all when I get the game(Or, for me, when everyone on this site spoils it XD).

I would really love a gameplay vid, instead of all this SGI stuff. Or at least another stage/Profile update.

It's the characters,stages,online, and VS that I care for in Brawl.
Not so much the sinlge player, even if it is kick-arse.

Something I noticed was the Kid Icarus Underworld theme...for those of us hoping for orchestrated music, we just might not get our wish...

I love Pit's Descent, and the Kid Icarus theme kicks in...and fades out as he disappears behind the clouds.

These kind of updates are pretty cool because they dont show alot....or show to little...get what I'm saying? Instead of getting a character or stage every night like we all want...we get these updates...like Dylan said...his weapon must be kind of important or maybe thats just how he gets his weapon? or whatever....see we can talk about this all night...oh and where the heck was he heading? who knows...

oh lawl the voice actor for the japanese pit (which will probably be the same for english as it seems like he won't talk)
And yeah they sure are making fuss about his precious bow or maybe they just want to give an explanation for it being able to split into swords.

I liked this update, I mean, sure its not a new character or stage, but it seems that the singleplayer is pretty kickass this time around.

Instead of classic, wich is basicley normal matches but then not, and adventure, wich was nice but not all that great.

Subspace looks awesome, you can bet Samus getting a distress signal and Snake getting an objective aswell ;)

There will be a lot of paths. Maybe the player decided to take "Pit's path" after all. I would love to see that.

these updates bring so much confusion to the reader, I get more confused as subspace emissary updates are posted. So is this one point that occurs if this princess gets captured? Does it matter? How does this translate into the whole level sequences?

But I must say, I want the single player to suprise me when I get the game. If another update like this appears sadly I'll have to leave the boards until the game comes out. I want to fully experience the single player as it occurs. sakurai please don't ruin it for usl. of course the same applies for unlockables.

You could try reading the title of the thread, and deciding whether or not there will be spoilers. This thread didnt spoil anything, really. You could have just avoided watching the movie.

Now hush :p no matter what single player is gonna blow ya away. Sakurai has too many mindgames to let us know the WHOLE story before the game comes out :p

I get where you're coming from, although I dont share the same feelings. I couldnt care less about storylines, Im a gameplay fanatic.

I have a feeling it will start off from the viewpoints of the many different characters, until they all merge at some point, like ....uh....Dragon Warrior 4 is the only game I can think of offhand. Anyway this update seems to highlight the work put into the cutscenes rather than actually "revealing" anything. Hopefully more of the heroes will be given similar intros.

I just wish that Sakurai would finish updating Pit's moves. If Marth isn't in Brawl (I doubt that he won't, though), Pit's my Main.

I'm begining to not like Adventure Mode updates. Some are like "OMG EPIC", but most it's just like "Okay, cool. What's your point?".

Really you can't be that ignorant, fan boys are inlined to spread these facts in any thread they see fit. How is it that I could be going through a Lucario thread or krystal thread and here some fan boy talking about How Petey has been confirmed beause he was in the last Subspace video.

But really isn't the curiousity of what will happen next part of the appeal of wanting to play the single player. i mean knowing how it'll all end just makes it seem less worthwhile.

You know, after watching this movie, I bet there'll be people who make "Simple and Clean" (theme from Kingdom Hearts) music videos that include that scene with Pit falling through the clouds.

Watching all of these scenes has made me wonder about a possible concept for Brawl (and if Sakurai already said this is true, forgive me; I've had a harder time checking updates because of school). Perhaps, for Adventure mode this time, instead picking one character to play as and fighting against all the other fighters... you'll get to play as all the characters on an individual level. You'll start the game with Mario having to choose which princess to save, then you'll go to Pit's level in the heavens, then maybe Link will have a level based on Bridge of Eldeen or somewhere else TP-related, then Samus, Ike, Falcon, Wario, etc.

Kirby saves either both princess or saves only one of the princesses then evacuates the arena before the bomb explodes. Kirby is to cool to die like that...

Oh and the reason I say both is because if you save one of the girls Petey will either run away with the other or eat the the other girl and you fight him again IMO.

I dont know about the original game but the halos are used for the bow, watch the Pit screenshots where he is shooting. The halos are on the arrow, and jumps back to Pit's hand when he shoots (shown in the first E3 movie)

Gahh, same here. Except I don't really wanna go through the bad graphics and apparent frustrating difficulty of the old games, so I'm gonna wait until they make a new one. Which they will. THEY HAVE TO.
