Ok so far i know about his mid air foward hit. Are there any other ko moves for besides that and his smash attacks.

Gimpy's got a thread out about mario, and how he was one of the best characters based on 4 days play of the starting guys. I believe most of his moves have more knockback capable of a ko is what he had said. Im not sure, look up the thread.

his f-tilt can kill, but not so reliably, his u-tilt is a combo monster.

Mario always lacked good KO options since Smash 64.
I have a feeling that his fair will be too slow to combo into reliably. Maybe his fsmash will be stronger and can still be comboed from a uair chain.

As long as he keeps his famed headbutt, I'm good.

His usmash was a good KO move in the original, if you could combo into it. No one's going to stand there waiting for you to usmash him.
They nerfed it in Melee. Mario, Luigi, Jigglypuff, and Fox had amazing usmashes in the original. For some reason they nerfed everyone's but Fox's.

this may be off topic, but i wonder how FLUDD is gonna do in brawl....but yea for me, mario hasnt been my main "KO Kingpin" (that spot belongs to luigi) i have no combos with mario, but all with luigi....

I used to be a pretty good Luigi users. I was very unpreictable with the wavedashing, the B-Down, and his aerials.. But suddenly I lost the magic... and changed to Mario.
Though Mario's my 3rd best character now, I'm sure he's even better in Brawl. I'm gonna miss his spiking AFA, but I guess having the Doc's AFA this time will prove more useful...
His lack of meteor smashes worry me, though. I hope it's made up by his having the FLUDD.

Fludd is supposed to have good Knockback and you can aim it, so I say edgeguard

I heard FLUDD is garbage.

Running upsmash?
The fair looks more like a finisher than a combo starter even though it has better priority now.

Oh please, you're going to do nothing while your opponent runs straight to you? Running usmash is only good for tech-chasing.

I wasn't talking about a long distance. :/
Plus you make it sound like it's a slow move. What did you use to kill people then?

I don't see why his FSmash is being frowned upon so much. It has plenty of range and killing power, and its most likely you'll sweetspot your opponent. 1 out of the 7 times it doesn't hit right. Its just about simple timing.

I heard that his Dair kills in sudden death.
Also, I think his Upb got a buff.

His bair wasn't too bad when i used it. My friends never liked it, not liking the knock back, but i used it a lot and effectively.

Umm, Mario still has a Meteor Smash in his Fair, it just doesn't activate until the horizontal Mark. You should not be worried at all!

Comboing into a fair was one of Doc's best ways to KO people...sure, his moves had/have different knockback, but if it has similar power to Doc's version, it should prove very useful.

Mario's kill moves are as follows:
-All of his smash attacks (which have been improved in every way since Melee)
-His b-throw
-His fair (not just that, according to Gimpy there's a part of this attack where your opponent will go forward and not down if they get hit)
You can also use these to effectively kill your opponents:
-His bair (used as an edgeguard)
-His Cape (used as an edgeguard)
-His Fireball ("Fireball Spike")
-FLUDD (well, this one is a maybe, but considering its effect it could make an effective edgeguard)

Yes, finally somebody mentioned the cape. ^
But the thing is, now you'll be able to grab ledge even when facing the other way (if what I heard/read is correct).

This is true. However, the Cape also reflects the motion of the attack it is reflecting; or, rather, a reflected attack or projectile maintains is momentum. If a Fox uses Fire Fox and you Cape it, the Fox won't just stop in the air and turn around; he'll keep going. Not just that, the small end lag of the Cape means you can, in most cases, quickly follow up with an attack to punish the now-delayed recovery of your opponent.

I am glad they changed mario, he is one of my favorite characters and they made him inferior to his brother which isnt right. His fsmash is horrible.
Psydon

They haven't really changed Mario, to use that word in its purest form. They've made him better.

his up special is probably the only one that isn't effective at killing until high percentages anymore, even his cape is an effective edgeguard

O_o Mario's Up+B isn't effective at killing, at any percentage.

It's called an F-air =P. Bless. All his smash attacks, his back-throws are deadly, edgeguarding with cape is good, loads! Psy.

his up-b actually has quite decent knockback at higher damages now. Feasible to kill with it.

Up-b is one of my favorite moves to use when using Mario, the reason being it gets them away, and it can hit from under platforms. I also use the tornado at low % cuz it's fun,

...Okay, I just watched a E4A video. On Battlefield, Mario sent Samus almost to the edge of the ceiling AT 0% with his Up+B.
0%. The battle had just started.
Overpowered, much?
SJAK47

Probably sweet-spotted it? But yeah, I saw the video and Samus was flying at 3% damage.

Maybe the knockback of the final hit is one of those that starts out strong, but doesn't gain as much distance from higher %'s as other attacks (Ness' forward throw in SSBM for an offhand example)? That would let the move knock people away so they couldn't hit him with whatever they want while he recovers/"cools down".
Anyone know if the final hit still has that knockback if you only connect with it (e.g., they jump toward you while you're Up+B'ing)? It could also be that each hit adds a little to the knockback. Even if it's not the case, the new physics engine has plenty of exciting possibilities.

When I played I got some good damage off of his NAIR but I wouldn't consider a kill move xD

Like I already said, Mario's nair is powerful and very useful, but it's not quite a kill move.
