Old Nintendo Power Characters?

I was flipping threw old issues of Nintendo Power and I found this interesting section dedicated to Super Smash Bros. Melee. On the lat part of the section it states the most wanted characters Sakuri was thinking of. Here is a clip from the section:

"SSBM offers 25 playable characters in the game (not including Sheik). But in such a highly customizable game, we say the more the merrier! Wario and Toad came out on top of the most wanted list. Other characters our interviewees want to see include Waluigi, the Hammer Bros., Captain Olimar, Dark Samus, Diddy Kong, Grit from Advance Wars, Fawful from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Poo from Earthbound, Pit from Kid Icarus, Bald Bull from Punch-Out!!, Ike from upcoming Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, anyone from the Paper Mario world and non-Nintendo characters such as Sonic. There were very specific requests, too, such as a vacuum-wielding Luigi and a Deku Scrub Link. And while we're sure there will be many surprises in the new Smash game, all we can do is cross our fingers and wait"

This is on Page 79 of issue # 195 of Nintendo Power.

Now these were the characters Sakuri was thinking of in September 2005 and now many are in. The list below is the sum of the of the characters mentioned and if they are in the game or not.

-Wario: Confirmed as a Character
-Toad: Confirmed as a Attack
-Waluigi: Confirmed as a Assist Trophy
-Hammer Bros.: Confirmed as a Assist Trophy
-Captain Olimar: Confirmed as a Character
-Dark Samus: Confirmed as a Sticker
-Diddy Kong: Confirmed as a Character
-Grit:Possibly Confirmed as a Assist Trophy in the form of Advance Wars
-Fawful: Deconfirmed
-Poo: Confirmed as a Sticker
-Pit: Confirmed as a Character
-Bald Bull: Confirmed as a Assist Trophy in the form of Little Mac
-Ike: Confirmed as a Character
-Paper Mario: Conrimed as a Trophy and a Sticker
-Sonic: Confirmed as a Character
-A Vacuum-Wielding Luigi: Conirmed as Luigi but no Vacumm
-Deku Scrub Link: Confirmed as a Sticker

Now there have been some slight differences like we got a whole bunch of Advance Wars people instead of just Grit. So we may see these characters very soon.

I will update the list when ever soemthing is revieled.

That's because you're an idiot, then. It's clearly obvious you know nothing of the character whatsoever. Her real name is Metroid Prime. Dark Samus is the common name to give off a picture to those who don't know about her. Do a background check before you say she's a clone.

I can see him being a character even if he had the same moveset (I don't know enough to say he will) for all the people who use to play samus up untill now, but hate being zero suit samus.

We do not actually know if Nintendo (Advanced) Wars is to get a character or not. Since we have no Dojo update, we have not seen if NW will get an icon or not. So, it is still possible for Grit, or Andy, to be a character.

I have read this before and I feel it does give a amazing argument on why Dark Samus should be a character of her own. I just feel that if she is to become her won character she will have to be detached form the Samus image. I see in the color change part you show a Dark Samus that looks different. I think that would be perfect for brawl. I don't know though. I need to see one of the clones return before I am willing to believe that they will have Dark Samus. I know she wont be a clone but I still would like to see a clone return with a different move set before fully accepting the possibility.

Lakitu is in the game, and is sprited. This means there will be no Mario characters? Naw. Just wait to see if it has an icon or not. :)

I have read it and I am sticking to what I said. i need some proof whether it be a stage, clone of a different character, or something to lead to believe Dark Samus will be in the game. I want to see Dark Samus and others in the game. I think your thread does a nice job at saying why Dark Samus should be in brawl. I am just not convinced. I am sorry. If and when she is released I will apologize to you if I am not making sense. Its just what i think.

The whole Deku/Goron/Zora Link Idea could happen, Ive seen other refrences to Deku Link from Nintendo, And the Deku Form isn't important enough to make it in alone.
