What the hell will the rope snake do?

Hey all you former Ness-mainers! Yes, I know, I mained Ness since 64 too, but it seems Lucas looks kinda the same, right?

Well anyways, one move I wasnt sure of was the rope snake. Will it be his grab move (like Links chain thingy) or another type of move?

Although the Lucas moveset update doesn't exactly say it's a grab, it's pretty much the only real conclusion anyone can make... even if you ignore what the snake originally did in MOTHER 3, the update pretty much makes it clear it's grabbing onto a ledge, and only Tether Grabs have that ability. So yeah, totally a grab.

The only other option was the snake was his forward smash, but the recent Subspace Emissary video proves that Lucas swings a stick around, almost exactly like how Ness swung his baseball bat.

There's nothing else that needs to be said, really.

Well, its obviously his grab.
We already know his special moves, so it must be this.

Its his grab...And its good because like if you barely miss the ledge with your mid-air jump you wont have to use the PK Thunder.

How will he throw tho? Like Samus who uses her beam to grab them and throw or like link?

I hope he doesn't use the snake to actually throw.. Ness throw was one of the best in Meele

He could just use the snake as a reel, or he could just do the Samus type thing and throw them with the snake. *shrug*

same with Ness, why couldn't he use his telekinesis to grab like he did to throw?

like previously said. Its possible for lucas to grab with the ropesnake and do a psychic throw similar to Ness's.

I think the rope snake is just one of many ways in which Lucas differs from Ness, making him a unique character all his own. This move was actually one of the main reasons I always believed Ness would be in despite all of the "OMG Lucas has Ness' moves!" BS that was going around. I do think it looks unique and fun, although it is also very similar to the Link/Samus/Ivysaur grabs. I wonder how it compares to those in terms of length.
