A couple of questions

I am an avid Ike fan, and was highly disappointed when he was announced as a heavyweight. In Melee, being a heavyweight condemned you to the lower tiers. (FLAME SHIELD)
I play fairly casually. Despite over 100 hours on Melee, I have never learned to wave dash, SHFF, etc. I still am one of the best in my group.

My question:
Is Ike a decent character for a casual player?
(Bowser was not in Melee, for reference. Gannodorf- Maybe. Marth- Heck Yeah)
What does "SAF" stand for?

Is Ike really considered Top Tier?
(I realize no official tier lists are released, but as a preliminary evaluation?)

I am new to these boards, so if I am violating any sort of etiquette let me know.

well ike is definently good in my opinion, he will be great and hellafun for casual, specialy FFA
