There's a match I found of Donkey Kong fighting Zero Suit Samus. Here's the link:

Although it was only a two minute match, both players seemed somewhat skilled. By the way, it's the first match in the video (the video is a compilation of spectator mode matches). Enjoy.

DK doesn't need to face his opponent to fight them. He can just use his Back-Air face kick. When he does face his opponent to attack, it's just to pimp slap them or use a Donkey Punch.
