You downthrow every time, rarely being able to follow it up. Is this just a habit from Melee, or is there something I'm missing? I figured - if you can't follow it up - it'd be better to toss 'em off the edge with a forward or backthrow and try to edgeguard, or at least get a couple hits as they scramble back to the stage.

Yes it was a habit from melee. I was actually talking with tobias about how I need to stop down throwing haha. Her other throws don't really set up for anything either though. Also, dthrow charge shot still works on some characters.

Have you played around with air dodging with the grapple at all? As of right now it seems as though you are kind of forced to wait towards the end of your jump in order to not overshoot the grapple. If you could lower it somehow with air dodging to achieve some kind of Falco style laser-aggressiveness... :p

I enjoyed the matches I watched - you make Samus look fun despite a lot of the feelings that she's been nerfed. I personally am excited about using the grapple beam attack with no lag and also any other cool tricks that are sure to come along.

Also Hylian your Samus is good and will only improve over time when you remove melee bad habits which I'm sure I will need to do as well when I get the game :). Can't wait to friendlies and our online tourney.

For example, after you charge your beam fully, you seem to be like "Oh man, I can't wait to shoot this and pwn him!" and then you use it almost right away. You should wait for an opportunity when you know you have a higher success chance of hitting them, such as when they have wasted their second jump for example. Other than that, keep working out the hawt grapple spamz. :chuckle:

Thanks. You can actually Zair(Omg56k) into any attack. So you can Zair to Chargeshot, and then in the stun of the chargeshot grab or hit them.

This is probably the coolest thing that Hyli's done. It's so good as a low percent damage boost, like knee->grab in Melee.

Just re-watched matches I love the mind games you do off of edge in Samus vs. Kal Marth 4 and my favorite match by far is you versus Tobias Samus 2 Samus dittos look so fun. Good overall game play shown in videos.

I enjoyed watching these Hylian just because you really experiment and try new things and sometimes it works. The Zair into other moves stuff for example, is very progressive in building a good Brawl samus and even though you make all sorts of mistakes there is still a lot of things to see in these that show what works and what doesn't.

Also, clutch videos. When Brawl came out, I was looking forward to some Samus impressions. She is my main in Melee, and I wouldn't want to change that. I was sorta displeased after hearing some initial impressions, like she is worse... a lot worse. However, through more play sessions with her from various people, she is shaping up to be super awesome. Seriously, thank you for restoring my faith in Samus and her awesomeness.
