Does Mario play more like Dr. Mario now? If so, I may wind up maining Mario, because I just realized a few days ago that I rock with Dr. Mario in Melee. A bit late, though :/

Well, Mario and Dr. Mario were a lot alike in Melee, and Mario was in SSB first anyways, so that would mean that Dr. Mario is more or less like normal Mario, not vice versa.
If Mario in Brawl is a lot like Dr. Mario in Melee, then I'll probably end up maining Mario as well...depends on how I play with a few others, though. I was thinking about Wario for a long time, and still might main him.

It'd be great to get some feedback on Mario's play style rather than randomly speculating and wishing. Less than a week to go, folks.

Yeah I currently main Dr. Mario and am hoping Brawl Mario will be a pretty smooth transition from him.

No.
Looking at these videos, I don't really see a resemblance, other than the bair chains. I think Mario has a hybrid Doc/Mario fair but I haven't seen the doc kb yet. I'd say hes more like mario.

Regardless, I miss the Doctor and will probably play at least try to get good with the plumber.

The only thing similar to Dr. Mario I've noticed is that the opening frames of Mario's Fair will not spike but will send them flying much like Dr. Mario's Fair from Melee. So basically a skilled Mario player will be able to utilize Dr. Mario's Fair as well as Melee Mario's Fair spike move if said player is an expert at timing the attack.

This is what they did with clones that were viable.
Dr.Mario and Mario in Melee had their balances combined to make Mario in Brawl
Roy and Marth had their balances combined to make Marth in Brawl
Pichu, well, no.

I dunno, Pikachu is both faster and stronger, like pichu was, to the point of actually being a playable character.

if u want a real idea about the way mario plays in ssbb, think of a mix between his ssb64 and ssbm selves...
like pichu was, to the point of actually being a playable character.
Lol, pichu is definitly a playable character in melee, you should've said something that made more sense like kirby. Hes horrible >_>

From my experience so far... not really.
In fact, Marth is almost exactly how he is in Melee. A slightly nerfed F-Air and less potent throws, but nothing at all like Roy.
Pretty much the same with Mario. His fireballs are a little closer to the pills I guess, but pretty much none of the main differences between him and Doc carried over to the Brawl Mario.
