Should I use Fox in the Gamestop tournament. It is between Fox and Mario. I'm good with both of them, but I'm not sure which one to use in round one. I think Fox might be a little better against Ike, which is what most people are going to use. Anways, what do you guys think?

God iono why everyone likes ike so much..big deal he can k.o like a **** i swear he is the new noob character. Well on topic i say fox..but thats cuz hes my favorite also. Go with fox im sure his speed will come in handy..just be good with him.

1st and foremost, use who your experienced with, and yes compared to mario fox would be better against the 1000s of Ike's but from the whole cast, the best counterpick would be Samus or Snake (if snake is playable)

If it's between Fox and Mario, I say go with Mario. Mario's moveset has been changed a bit but Fox is pretty close to his Melee self...

im wondering the same thing. In melee I was marth....but i hear the gamestop im going to is using the demo version so, no marth for me. Next best playable in the demo is fox....then link, then pikachu.
Which 1 should I go with? I want to be as familiar with the game as possible just for the tournament. It's kinda hard jumping right into a tournament of a game that I've never "technically" played.

so if I choose fox(i hear he is nerfed?), is there anything I really have to look out for?

In general for any tournament you should use mario but it depends who your better at.

I went to that tournament won the first round with my main link

i agree with fox ike is a bit slow so u should have an advantage.

i would say to choose who you are more comfortable with.
but you should tech chase when you play ike's
