Has anyone thought about using an arcade stick for playing Brawl? It's probably not as good as a Gamecube controller, but it's probably a pretty fun alternative.
Since arcade sticks use digital input, wiimote controls would be configured.
Proposed controller layout:
(1) (2) (3) (4)
(5) (6) (7) (8)
(1) - Standard Attacks / "A" Button
(2) - Special Attacks / "B" Button or Shield
(3) - Shield or "B" Button
(5) - Jump
(6) - Maybe Grab?
Having (1) and (2) be A and B instead (3) be B, is so there isn't a button in between you could accidentally hit while trying to smash. Likewise, Shield at (2) makes it easier to shield-grab. No matter what your preference is, it should probably where your hand feels most natural. Put taunts whereever at your own discretion.
Piano input aerials ftw. It's the new clack clack clack.
Edit: Wiimote controls use D-Pad for movement; dashing is a double tap in a direction.
