I removed all my techniques-adding new techs in here from TL players so post your techs and I'll decide on if they should be posted in here.

also post If you are having trouble with your toon link combos, mindgames, spacing, tech skill , etc. or just not winning 80% of your matches post in here and ill give you tips from certain match ups ( also stage tip for TL to use for counter picking or just to rape your opponent haha)

I recommend watching the toon link combo vid but
characters like marth or ike brake out of toon links combos
with their counters and cpu are bad to play aganst because I can 0-death them which is not good practice lol

Although your grammar/syntax is atrocious (I'm assuming English isn't your primary language), the tips weren't bad.
Sure, maybe basic to some people here, but still not bad.

well do you know how to pivot but I use pivot smashing as a mindgame which works great
or pay attention to hugs who use pivot grab with samus ( very similar to toon links grab and work well for me ) which i think is second in cali to mango 3rd silent spectre

but yeah I use it as a mindgame which works very good

for in example toon link can't combo marth or ike from his d-throw or b-throw
because they can counter after the grab
so you mindgame them jump at them dont do a move they counter you and you npunish them for falling for the mindgame

but bad players dont know you can ALWAYS counter so you might be able to hit them depending on your level of play and their

Anyone know a good way to approach wolf? I don't know maybe because its online but its hard to approach wolf especially if the user spams forward smash + reflector + laser. I thinking the lag online sets off my shielding or air attacks but its still gay as hell.

Like I said before it might just be because of the online lag, I haven't faced a wolf user offline yet. I know and can do most of the techniques/tips for TL known so far. Any advice/tips anyone?

you need to tech chase them alot and spam your projectiles at them too

hey Chris i have a question, i noticed that W/ TL i can leave bombs on the floor. I usually do it as im rolling.
It seems to be a great strategy in my opinion and good tactic for mindgames. Thanks for your post, i learned a few tricks.

Since a TL support thread is up, mind as well do it while I'm at work.

One thing I noticed from TL's Air moves is that BAir has a faster initiation time than FAir, but BAir tends to send opponents diagonally up while FAir sends them horizontally. If you do not know where your opponent is after doing a SH towards the opponent NAir sweeps both left and right of you so its easier to land a hit on the opponent. However, NAir will only do slight knockback and less than that of FAir and BAir

robostrike ive notice the same thing with TL
bair is faster but when you fair always fastfall because it make a big deal with it
so time it early and fastfall plus fairs hits box is in the front the back ( change 1 sec in front then 1 sec in back

the bomb technique is all right but people can pick them up

and you can also jump and drop the bomb before you land to leave a bomb on the florr

through out your games try not to roll to much with TL because you get tech chase by good players

Mind games are the mental aspect of the game. It's not something that is in the game. Without ATs in SSBB, Mind games are incredibly important. (not that they weren't in melee)

Here's something when playing in
A. groups
B. with newer players

jump over your enemies while holding a bomb, let go of the control stick and tap Z (Default GC Controls)
the bomb casually falls and catches most people off gaurd, at high percentages you can follow up with a back ot neutural air.

most spaceanimal player are campy and spam the firefox or illusion because they suck so spam projectiles to get them from camping and combo them

the reflectors are really bad in this game ( they nerf it in brawl)

I'm actually having trouble with the 1v1 matchup against Ike. Basically, the problem is that most of his attacks have complete priority. I can keep him at bay with projectiles and stop him from approaching but it's difficult to do much else. One of the biggest problems is that the shorthop approaches are basically thrown away because he will destroy you on the approach.

Spam projectiles and run whenever Ike gets close. His priority moves won't be any use when you're out of his range. Does Toon have priorities over Ike? Sure. When you have to get away, either run normally or spam projectiles while jumping over Ike. This usually works.

Also, abuse your speed advantage.

Im having the hardest time with the SHDA its up on the control stick and then B rapidly right? Because the x and b button are pretty far away in (nano seconds that is lol) and I try setting y to specials but it feels wierd and unatural. any tips/ buttons you press?

alright so lets say your playing FD- Toon link the beast vs ike since thats pretty common
and FD toon link vs zelda since thats common too

alright a good way to start off your game with tl i have about three ways ill full jump down-B then double jump forward-B at them (while im in the air) and throw my bomb while im in the air.I'll do this to try to get them to hold there sheild or get damage on them or ill approach the middle of your stage hold my sheild if there gonna do a move on me only then from there either shild grab them dont roll k, spam a A-move out of your shield but space it so they cant shield grab you, full out of shield and decide from there.another way of starting ill do a aerial such as a fair on them and ill space it according to if they shield or take damage so they shield ill fair there sheild but di away from them so that i dont get grab/they well probaly try to grab me so ill take advantage of there grab lab and grab them or fair them they will take damage ill fastfall so its a shfffair(fastfall make a difference in brawl slightly)then from there up-tilt,forward-tilt or grab.

dont change the buttons leave them as defualt bro

short hop double arrows alright so for shorthop double arrow your gonna be using the control stick to shorthop or Y (not x )
nano seconds what ? lol
frames bro you kind of have alot of frames to do a sh double arrow
i think you have 8 extra frames if done perfectly.
i recommend using y to jump dont using x anymore
i know alot of people who switch to Y and it improved there game

priority is really equal in brawl on moves its just people suck( not kidding, people think bro is so much different from melee but spacing and mindgames/alot of the tech carries from melee)
its just people dont understand spacing and have a feel for toon links hit boxes
practice spacing your moves and getting a feel for his hit boxes
you have to have a feel for TL's hit boxes to space your moves anyways.....

1v1 matches eh well toon link is gonna be a high tier and i know their gonna place ike in the low teir

the priority is really even

so i figure your probaly playing a pretty campy ike player from what it seems
try spaming your aerial as your rushng him and shorthopping into a fastfall shield ( mind game you shorthop he attacks thinking you are attacking too you shield and since ike has alot of lag on his moves you punish him with a grab,up-smash or shorthop dair.
do you play tournie rules ( 3 stocks and 7 minute time if not when ever you play set it to this)

practice your spacing so that you wont get grab or hit when your attacking him

yeah I can, this is what your gonna do is
learn to tech/wall tech(look in you tube and melee threads - teching is in both melee and brawl/its done the exact same)
learn to edge guard (look in youtube and melee threads )
learn to tech chase (look in youtube and melee threads tech chasing is in both melee and brawl/its done the exact same)
learn to space some of your moves (look in youtube and melee threads )


dont worry on the mindgames right now but work on them during april


if you can post vids i gave you tips on your matches but if you cant record matches just post in here

so i would recommend going to bestbuy they have dazzle dvc recorders which are ment for ripping dvd's or recording from your tv to computer or recording your video game gameplay onto your computer

dont use camrecorders they are bad
really bad video quality
dvc have dircetly quality so it is how it is on your tv
dazzle dvc is from pinnacle
online you can purchase dazzle video creator platinum for $89 from pinnacle
i recomend going to bestbuy because they currently have the normal dazzle video creator which is only $54
it look the same as the platinum but red
and the software is included with the product
