About 3 days ago I thought the defense was the tactic to beat Wolf.

I was wrong.

I need help countering the lasers, and especially THAT ****ED F-SMASH!

Wolf is broken in this game in my opinion, and a whole lot of people use him.

How in the name of Hyrule do I beat Wolf???

He's not broken. I can beat my friend's wolf no problem. Well aside from blocking and his Fsmash and grabbing out of it, which I would think is obvious, there are a few things I can say...

You obviously cant spam projectiles because wolf has a reflector. So you have to trick Wolf into getting hit with them. For instance throw a boomerang that you know is going to miss, or throw a bomb straight up when yo have a spare second. This will limit some of Wolf's choices after the fact, and you may be able to get him to get hit by the bomb on the way down. Also if a missed boomerang is coming back, it makes approaching a little safer because you can't be punished that hard if he jsut gets hit with the boomerang.

Also... EDGEGUARD. If he is holding on to the side, and jumps up, chase him with a back air to send him up, and then throw a bomb up or try for an utilt or Usmash, or chase him more in the air. If he tries to roll up, get up, or attack back onto the stage, you can basically punish him everyway by timing a shorthopped aerial.

Another thing... Wolf's upB is predictable. If your friend is under the stage and trying to get back up, use a Dair to spike him, but I will stress that this is ver risky... A better idea might be to jump out a little bit past his upBs range, and backair him into the side of the stage during his recovery to send him into the wall, and then straight down (this works on FD, I'm not really sure about other stages.

From my experience, TL can combo wolf fairly well, so work on punishing your friends mistakes.

What a crybaby, he's not broken, he just plays fairly well. Defense is the key to beating wolf, if you think it's not then you're doing something wrong. Here are some tips for defeating him.

a) Stay grounded as much as possible
b) no projectiles
c) No grabs
D) Rush him and stay close to him, use rolling and fast moves to counter almost any of his smashes or tilts. With T. Link, this means tilt and roll ALOT, you must stay close though.
e) Once you've worked him up to ~120, try hitting off a forward smash, or get behind him and usmash, and once he's off the stage, put your whole heart into keeping him off the ledge, his recovery is horrible.

I've tried that Kilikan, its just that the Wolf I play against seems to have a counter to everything, I'm really trying to find a weak point.

I'll try it again though, I haven't used the tilts, but he D-Smashes me whenever a roll behind him.

Then use mindgames; roll behind him then roll once again and wait for his smash, then punish him. If you can predict his movement enough to write it down like this then you can predict it enough to work around it.

Lots of mindgames (not only in movement, but to force his shine every now and then to keep him from using something else, knowing you won't use your range anymore)

I wouldn't say that Wolf is broken, but he is indeed a big threat to Toon Link. That Fsmash is insane. I agree with Kilikan about staying grounded, because Wolf's aerials tend to take priority over your sword. If you need to approach, bombs can be used somewhat. You're not really trying to hit with them so much as play mindgames, maybe try to get him to roll away or shield against something you can punish him for. Also, if you can get him off the stage, you'll be in a good position. His recovery is terrible.

I think the problem for you is probably not the character so much as your friend. If it's on wifi then record some of your fights. If not then just try to pay closer attention to what he does in each fight. Does he do a lot of ground attacks, a lot of air attacks? Does he seem to use a lot of heavy smashes or just tilts? Taking in observations like these will help you learn to read your friend and develop strategies against him. This is as crucial as developing your own skills.
