The above poster is absolutely right. I found the aerial hookshot, or Zair, to be one of my best assets when fighting Zelda.

I fight versus an excellent Zelda quite a bit, so I am not able to play the air game with her that I can with other characters. Zelda has good range, great priority, and quite a few moves that will kill you if you are not extremely careful. The reflector make sit harder to projectile spam Zelda, although usually you can still sneak a few in. My friend and I discovered yesterday (in a 99 stock 1-on-1 Brawl-fest) that Zelda's DAir will out-prioritize TL's Bair, and of course her neutral Air out-prioritizes just about everything. That said, playing the ground game with Zelda is not all that advantageous for TL either, as the range on her attacks is deceptively large; hence my agreement about using the ZAir to approach her. Also, don't be afraid to do a lot of grabbing when she is approaching...one thing Zelda is not is a quick runner.

Besides that, get very good at evading Din's Fire. Throw bombs/boomerang at her while recovering to discourage Din's Fire use. Beware of her upwards aerial attacks! This includes her upsmash, uptilt, and upair. They will kill at relatively low percentages, especially the upair. I like to throw bombs down at Zelda when above her as a distraction, for example. Just do what you can to not get hit by those aforementioned attacks, because besides the Foot O'Doom (which is thankfully much harder for Zelda to land in this game, but also stronger) she does not have a huge amount of moves that will kill below 100%.

I love playing versus Zelda, a lot of it becomes a very good mind-game match. I think he is one of Toon Link's better matchups, although I may be speaking from years of fighting a good Zelda 1-on-1. ;)

Well considering Zelda has range, and projectile speed on you (other then SHDA) it makes her a hard match to just out play..

Like Genuine said, the z-air is probably a good start, although I never really tried it first hand.

Zelda is stronger then TL as well and can KO at much lower percents, so it's really going to require more mind games then actual tech skill to win this match up.
