I dont want to sound like im hating or anything, because I do like TL.

But he has so many flaws.

First, his Dair is the most punishable attack ever, and an instant KO if you do it in the wrong area, or if you do it after you get knocked back and you dont realize it. ( its possible )

Hes got projectiles though so I think it makes up for it.

But then I found other issues.. like his attacks ( hes very small ) dont go very far, so his up smash only really works when some "noob" falls on top of you without Air Dodging..

The only one of his smash or tilts I could find use of was his Dsmash but its so predictable and leads to punishable.

Yeah... but see, most of us are able to use Dair to our advantage, without having to get ourselves killed.

Hes got GREATprojectiles though so I think it makes up for it.

:laugh: Toonie's attacks actualy go pretty far and his Usmash can also hit the sides. That, and his size makes him hard to hit.

So, do you have any suggestions on how to be a better Toon Link? If not, maybe I'll just go into the Lucas forum and up my post count by posting why I think he's bad.

Being a good Toon Link isn't about seeing his weaknesses, it's about making up for them with his strengths. I know that Dair sucks, which is why I don't use it. But even if his sword is short, he's got amazing speed and recovery, which lets him chase opponents off the edge like no other. He's got great projectiles that can go in virtually every direction, and he has great combo potential, even if you can't combo so well. But yeah, Lucas has horrible recovery, doesn't he.

No character is perfect. Toon Link's flaws are made up for by the awesomeness of his other attacks.

Some people run up to people, then Up smash, then spam it to juggle. It hits on the sides. Also, someone could be falling, then you run up to them and Up smash. You can use mindgames to hit the opponent AFTER they airdodge.

Up-tilt is good, you use it for juggling. You don't spam smashes, that's what makes them predictable. You use them when the opponent is suddenly close to you, but you don't run up to them just to smash them, you aerial them. You can b-air to utilt for instance. Side smash is good for edgeguarding sometimes, or catching people with it. Down smash can be used to punish people who are laggy. But never spam it.

Didn't say he didn't. Said Lucas has poo recovery. Should I mention that competitive TL rapes half the cast of characters, and slightly less rapes the rest? I've seen videos.

Wow veng, this takes the cake for waste of time posts. You are a Lucas main obviously, so don't come talking about how bad TL is if you don't want to get the same kind of treatment toward Lucas.

Honestly, those few flaws of his are what makes me like TL so much. I hate over powered characters because doing well with a Top Tier character doesn't prove much. It's doing well with a flawed character that proves something.

In the end it's all about preference. In Melee you would never see anything but the top 3 or 4 characters if it wasn't.
