Toon Link Dair technique?

I was messing around with Toon Link the other day when I accidentally discovered something. When using a dair, for some reason I floated in the air (able to move left and right) for a few seconds before flying down and striking. Seems like a glitch, but it could definitely be a good move if I could learn to use it consistently. Has anyone else done this, or am I a total noob and this has been discovered already? If not i'll research it some more and find out how I did it.

Maybe not a total noob, but a noob none the less. There are probably four threads on the front page that talk about this. Upward momentum after being hit allows you to hover.
