Ok I find this to be my toughest fight with Toon Link. Marth is a lot faster than TL, hurts more and has greater reach. I have a really difficult time controlling distance since he's so fast and when he's in close he has a significant advantage.
I know Marth has no projectiles but when the enemy is good at dodging it's really hard to keep him away with them.
Any recomendations for this fight?

I have the same problem. I played this really good Marth player today, and he three stocked me a couple times. It was awful. I definitely think that is one of TL's worst matchups.

Marth players will always move in close enough to hit with the tip of their sword. You can grab them at that range.

Grab isn't a viable option because the Marth player will badly punish every missed grab, due to the huge lag. Sure, you can sneak in a grab here and there, but its definitely not a counter to his range. As for tactics against Marth, as a TL/Marth main, I believe TL's air-game is comparable to Marth's (Marth would completely destroy TL on the ground... dancing blade is too good). What he lacks in range he makes up in speed. Yes, TL will have a hard time with a good Marth, but its not the worst matchup ever. I would projectile spam to distract your opponent while you try to get within range for your sword. Rolling past dancing blades and SH-bair him from behind. Basically, learning the spacing between these two characters is key.

Like every match, space with projectiles. Get damage with that. If you can, try to projectile combo. I suggest a nair after a bomb or boomerang that will stun him long enough.
When you projectile spam, try to predict what they're going to do and where they're going to go. If you can do that, you'll limit their options in what to do and you can keep them at a safe distance.
I.E. I like to throw a bomb at them on the ground, and then throw a boomerang upwards. Usually they'll either shield the bomb or jump. If they jump, they get hit with the boomerang. After I throw the boomerang I sometimes shoot an arrow. The arrow will either hit them on the way down, or if they shield and charge at me, the arrow will prevent him from getting close. Use strategies like this.
I rarely go for grabs against a Marth, unless it's after a laggy attack like Fsmash. Instead when you're in your shield and he's in a pretty close range, go for a nair out of the shield.
Make sure to shield a lot, but not so much where it'd break your shield. Marths like to use double fair to fsmash and their over b combo so you have to make sure to hold the shield long enough for this.
Killing Marth can be tough, but I try to mindgame them into an fsmash. If that doesn't work, I don't use many usmashes until they're at killing percentage since usmash is so quick. Also, get them off the ledge and try to mindgame them into going below the edge. If you do it right, they'll up b. Edgehog at the last second and if you did it right, he'll go through you and die. Marth is incredibly easy to edgehog kill.
Other options: nair/fair off the edge, dsmash (if you don't use it much), bair against the stage to spike them, and uair.
Another thing I like to do against most characters when they shield, is apporach with short hopped nair and then air control to the other side of the shield and bair. Most of the time they'll try to shield grab or get away after the nair, but you can get the bair off just before you land.
This matchup is much much easier if you predict and space.

Try throw a bomb up while he's running at you, run away even more while pulling out another bomb and then throw it so that when the bomb in the air hits the ground, its a bomb combo. Hard to pull off but very mindgamey
EDIT: also spam those arrows and boomerang. Maybe he'll roll it and the boomerang will come back on him
