Need Help with Toon Link

I have two questions, first does anyone know how to throw Toon Links boomerang diagonally into the air. Socond, I saw this video of Toon Link killing at 10% and I also heard that this was done by making Toon Links down smash only hit infront of him. Is this true? If so does anyone know how it is done?

AFter you hit side-B make sure to hit the angle you want to throw it at before Toon Link finishes the animation. It's rather easy.

the opponent has to be doing a down move iirc but on yoshis isle edge you can do it with ease

To throw diagonally simply do side B and pick the direction you want with the control stick. To only hit with the first part of down smash, either the opponent must be holding down, or you are on a sloped stage.
