I know Toon Link is smaller, faster and weaker. but what else is diffrent?
*facepalm*
Just about everything you can pretty much imagine about the two are different.
Link is stronger, heavier, slower, and has more range. Toon Link is faster with a better recovery. Their projectile games are much different., the main differences being the comparisons in travel speed of their arrows and the fact that Link's Gale Boomerang has interesting properties. Link's bombs, unlike Toon Link's have better KO potential.
They only have two aerials in common, and the dair doesn't even really count, since Toon Link's has downward momentum and can spike, unlike Link.
Link's dsmash pushes opponents back, while Toon Link's uses the first hit to send the opponent into the second hit, which sends them flying upwards.
Link's Dash Attack Cancel slides him much further than Toon Link's.
Toon Link's ftilt is faster than Link's.
Toon Link's bomb explosion animation is sexier.
You can find out most of these differences by trying them out in training mode.

Yeah, it's important to note that all of these little differences drastically change the way they both are played. Toon Link's air game is very different. And... funner.

I mained Link is Melee and gave him a good try in Brawl but I really think he got nerfed big time. In Brawl Link's move-set isn't drastically different from Melee, but has a few key differences. I think he's definitely a bit slower than he was in Melee, but what made me switch to TL is that in Brawl, Link can't freaking jump or recover to save his life (no pun intended). When playing him it feels like he forgot to take off his iron boots after coming out of the water temple in lake hylia... That influenced me most in deciding to move to TL. Link's gale boomerang is also a quack. Yea it can bring your opponent towards you, but in my experience this is too unreliable to be useful. It also doesn't do damage if it hits your opponent while it's returning to you, which is disappointing. On the other hand the first two hits of Link's U-smash had their knock-back reduced so you can actually hit with the more powerful third hit now. Link's bombs and arrows are also faster and more powerful than TL's. Regardless, TL is without a doubt a much much stronger character and will almost certainly be near the top of the tier list, while I think putting Link in mid-tier would be generous at best.
