New Tactic:Bomb Sliding...*in the works*

Alright so Toon Link has been my secondary for a few weeks now and I am thorougly enjoying using him in Brawl, He's fast, hard to KO and can do damage both near and far. Although, he has yet to overtake my IC for main :psycho:. But the point of this post is....i did something awesome, or pretty cool...but i need your guys help and expertise to verify if there as a serious way to do this. Ill describe what happened and then propose a question that i would love for you guys to answer....(this also has happend with reg. link to a certain degree...without the sliding part though)

Im TL, and the opponent is not( if forget who he was). I pulled out a bomb and SH, i must have been hit in the air or something because TL dropped the bomb on the ground BUT it DID NOT explode it just sat there. Then i Dair-ed right next to the bomb, and you know the push the Dair gives enemies next to you or sheilding...it pushed the bomb along the ground until it hit the enemy and exploded.

Now my question is, is there a way to get TL to drop the bomb without it exploding by himself, or does he need the enemy to hit him for it to happen? Cause if he could accomplish this on his own that would be a pretty sweet tactic cause the bomb slides fairly fast and definately faster than when it is throw.

EDIT: I forgot to say i cannot replicate it just yet, but i am trying and even letting a comp hit me to try and get it on a replay.

EDIT #2: I just saw someone mention bomb sliding in another post, this may be old...so if it is, just tell me and then please just let me know how it is done...sorry if i wasted your time :(!

Extremely old. You short hop, and right before you hit the ground, you press Z. The bomb will be placed on the ground. Jump and dair, and the bomb slides. This technique has already been dubbed "bomb sliding".


Yeah, this is one of those instances where search didn't seem logical to do. No, that's not sarcasm, I probably wouldn't have searched for it either.

Didnt kizzu discovered/pioneered this tech? Either way its a good surprise damage and combo starter. Bomb Slide rush in after hit with a hypen smash then Bair, bair,etc.

i swear i heard someone talking about using it as an edgegaurd, altho im not really seeing how would be used. how good a combo starter is it tho? cos by the time youve hit the bomb, and then made a cup of coffee while waiting for toon link to take his sword out of the ground, the opponent probably will have recovered
