My good bud (and main smash-playing rival) uses Sonic's speed to spam, a lot. When he's not short hopping his fair, he's using the A roll, or grab-spamming. Any tips to stopping Sonic's obvious approaches? Yes, I realize they are obvious, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're easy to counter.

Thanks!

Bair wall if you need space. Nair wall to stop grab approaches, especially if he likes to zoom past you, then come back to grab.

Arrows stop his spin dash on the ground cold. Boomerang controls the air. Remember, he's much slower in the air.

Don't tether if you like to mix up your recovery. Some Sonics like to go off the stage and bair. You don't want to get ledge spiked like that.

Watch yourself after the uthrow. Make sure you DI away so he doesn't combo from the spring. Sometimes you can throw out a dair if you're in that position.

Your uair has priority over his dair. Just remember that.

Sonic can use homing attack to recover. Keep an eye out for it.

Don't be afraid to throw a neutral A combo in his face.

SH Double Bair connects into an fsmash. Spacing it so that it intentionally doesn't aim to hit is a decent mindgame.
