Toon Link DLX Hit Cancel?

If you watch the slow motion part of the video, it shows that links foot is slightly off the ground and that is when you cancel the dash into the up smash. Toon link does not have that type of timing and therefore he can not do it.

To be able to it, your char has to slightly leave the ground, that is why it is easiest to do with snake. Try practicing it with snake then go and try it with toon link, you will see why he cant do it

correct me if im wrong but, can't every character do it. it's just barely noticable with some characters.

Stop getting getting confused with DLX hit cancel, Boost Smashing, and Hyphen Smashing.

DLX Hit Cancel - As far as i know only falco and snake can do this. This is when you consecutively LAND your dash attack and upsmash in one smooth motion.

Boost Smashing - This is when your upsmash can go a ridiculous distance. You must execute your dash attack and then immediately hit up and grab. Falco, Wolf, Shiek,Link, Wario,Snake and jiggs can do this.

Hyphen Smashing - This is a basic tactic that can be done with every character. Simply Dash and upsmash at the same time. Your character will slide a little while doing upsmash.

Wario can also perform DLX Hit Cancel, but his is practically useless.

Everyone can actually perform Boost Smashing, it's just not as much of a boost for certain characters (sometimes it's even worse than just Hyphen Smashing).

Boost Smashing/Dash Attack Cancel can be done by TL iirc, it just doesn't slide far. Though in contrast to the poster above me, I'm not sure everyone can do it. I'll have to experiment more.
