Okay, so I usually play as Lucas, but it's good to have someone else to play as during certain matchups, and I've been considering Toon Link. (Cat eyes are awesome.)

Things I like about Lucas:
Variety in attack speeds
Variety in attack ranges
High duration attacks
Good recovery
Projectiles
Good at keeping opponents sway
Middle/lightweight
Relatively small
High duration Air-Dodge
The U-Smash
Cartoony Appearance

Things I dislike about Lucas:
Power/speed ratio on some attacks aren't the greatest
Lack of range on the more powerful attacks
Lack of practical spikes
Somewhat lacking in approach options
Chain-grab-able

Given this information, would you guys say Toon Link would be suitable for me to play as?

Toon Link had all the bolded qualities, wether they be good or bad.

Lucas is cartoony? compared to TL?????

Toon Link definitely has fast, powerful moves. All of his smashes are fantastic, and his Utilt is a great combo move. His spike is pretty good, but then again I think Lucas' Bair is a good spike, so whatever.
Quite honestly, TL doesn't need range on power attacks. He's so dang fast he doesn't need range.
I think TL's recovery is fantastic. Great recovery area, only problem is you can't change momentum mid-move; all horizontal momentum must be "transfered" to the Up-B. Think Snake. Not as bad as it sounds.
I hate Lucas simply because he overshadows Ness. Hope somebody else can tell you more cons on Lucas.
Yeah. And triple-bold projectiles, please.

The good things about Toon Link is that He is faster than Lucas so u can escape easier, His Recovery move is harder to mess up than Lucas's if u havent played as Lucas or Ness. He is light weighted to go higher in the air Little so u dont get hit. Thanks to his Sword his dash attacks r much more longer than Lucas's. Now for the non-important one. He is much more toonier than Lucas or even Link which is why they call him "TOON" Link. Also Toon Link's Costumes are either from Four Swords and The Legend of Zelda (NES style) which means no matter wat he wears is cool.
The Bad thing about Toon Link is that unlike Lucas using Toon Link's Down Smash (a.k.a Link and Toon Link meteor smash) U r most likely to kill yourself than Lucas. Using Toon Link's Recovery move (if used as an attack) Wont do so much unlike Lucas. Toon Link's Up-Smash is not as good as Lucas's.

Now for score:
Be Toon Link 60% of the match and 40% be Lucas.

I think he means Dair.

Edit: why do you like that lucas is middleweight/lightwieght doesnt that just mean you die at lower percentages.

@WuTangDude: Why isn't his recovery bolded? Toon Link's recovery is really good.

Anyway, based on those criteria, I would recommend toon link.

That is true, but the lighter a character is, the easier they are to recover with. Their jumps also go higher, allowing for more time in aerial combat.

I dunno if it's better than Lucas'.

(And for the record, his d-air is NOT a kill move)

Toon Link is quite a beast when used right. He has good smash attacks and can spam his bombs to annoy opponents. Heck, I bet even Snake may have some problems against him.
