I was reading the thread about Toon Links bad match ups and i believe Kirby has an excellent match up against him.

Here is just an example of a basic Kirby vs Toon Link match during tourney

Baka (Toon Link) vs Gonzo (Kirby) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=od7sFSF-afY)

If some of u are skeptical i'll be willing to test this on wifi against TL players

My brawl code is: 2793-0287-9757

I dunno, in that match it just might have been that the kirby was more skilled. Kirby doesn't have much of any range and toon link could rack up damage from far away before going in for the kill. Even if kirby gets his arrows, it's arrows vs. bombs, arrows, and boomerangs.

Not many fighters can stand up to Toon Link. Wolf and Snake may have a chance, but getting past those crazy smash attacks and bombs can be a hassle.

I will prove to you that TL and kirby neither have advantages on the other. Kirby has more priority, but TL has better projectiles. Both have good combos. Both have good recovery. Kirby has a more practical spike, but TL can recover from it a lot of the times.

If you would liek to play my TL, which plays often against a very skilled kirby player, I would be more than willing to oblige.

Neutral Air counters all of TL's projectiles - bomb but bomb is easy to avoid

Nice matches Gonzo.

I still think the TL - kirby match up is either even or slightly in Tl's favor.

Rematch whenever haha.

Kirbys that give me trouble are those who roll around and smash. Hardly anything TL can do about it with his slower attacks. Then again, this is just online so I wouldn't know about playing a good one offline.

My friend is a really good one and we play all the time.

The main things to watch out for are:

-kirby's grab combos at low percent. Whenever he gets me in one, I DI away, and jump and airdodge. That way I get out with just a downthrow and an up tilt.

-kirbycides: when he is at really high percent, do not chill near the ledge! you will risk getting sucked up and either dieing, or both of you die. Either way I'd avoid being near those ledges when you are at low percent and he is at high percent.

-forward smash. that move is jsut beast. If he gets you in an a combo, he can come out with this and connect sometimes. I'd say this is most kirby's main kill moves.

-the dair spike. although this does not always kill TL, you should be watching out for it. Use the tether recovery sparingly when kirby is around as he can easily spike you while you are trying to pull yourself up.

Gonzo's kirby played rather similar to my friend's kirby.

The shielding i think is key against a projectile user like TL, i'm rather good at perfect shielding and the as long as u can shield dash towards TL the projectiles shouldn't hurt Kirby, but Coselm i think uses running upsmash as soon as an opponent shields the projectile, which is a smart way to get out of the campy play and into normal attacks

Good Sh1t coselm, we ned to play w/out lag sometime. Can u drive? u should come up for C3 or Critical Hit 3
