Bomb Lay

I'm sort of a noob with Toon Link, though, I'm curious to learn how to do this. Lying down bombs that is. I see it happening all the time, though, whenever I attempt to do this (other than being hit of course), the bombs explode. Is there a way to just lay the bomb down for them to self-destruct themselves or is the only way to do this by being hit?

Just curious because I've been testing around recently, and haven't been able to pull this trick off. Tips and advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Now that I have found out how to pull this off, what are some ways to use this to your advantage? How can Link use this minor and unique technique of his to his advantages in competitive gameplay? Please discuss. All tips and compliments are welcomed and appreciated.

You should short hop and press z right before you land. Pressing z while you are holding a bomb in the air makes you drop it, and when you drop it really close to the ground, rather than exploding, it rests on the ground until it explodes or gets picked up.

You can also jump through platforms on stages like battlefield and smashville and drop the bombs on the platforms.

Once you learn the timing, though, there really isn't a whole lot you can do with this technique, but it doesn't hurt to know it.

I guess it helps to know it if you can time everything right and play a perfect bomb game. To say the least.

Well if you can't time it right then I guess you'll never learn it anyways.

Honestly the timing isn't that hard at all. It's the application that is the hard part.

I just figured if I posted this here, that I'd get a few tips, combos, and advice to go along with it as well. Hoping to start a discussion... lol.

One thing this is good for though is just the coolness of dropping one and dair next to it. The shockwave sends it skidding across the platform and hopefully near the other person (this is mainly used to look cool as it is really easy to avoid and is assuming your opponent is standing still)
