Beating a spammy pikachu.

I play my friend all the time (were the only people we know who play brawl).
I can easly beat him most of the time if he uses any other character but I find it impossible to win when its TL Vs Pikachu.

Hes too small to SHN.
Extremely hard to stop his thunderbolt.
He spams thunder.
His smash moves last till the ****in sun rises etc..
He will never goes into the air until after I approach so MY arials become useless.

I seriously don't know how people find pika vs TL an even match.

Any advice?

I've just started Toon Link, so maybe I'm missing something here, but can't you just endlessly fire projectiles too?

You can, but it usually doesent work. Since pikachu's thunderbolt travels on the ground it goes under your projectiles. Plus its range is alot farther than your arrows/boomerings.

outcamp him, youve got 3 projectiles vs his 1 projectile + youve got your shield (stand still and thunderjolts won't hit... about 90% of projectiles dont hit, this shield even stops big aura balls)... stand still until hes tired of jolting

now... he spams jolts, spam him arrows, arrows are faster so, as far as i remmeber arrows cancel jolts so, younn end up hitting him arrows if he jolt vs arrow you

if they dont... jump, use boomerang, use bombs and arrows combined

NOW THE IMPORTANT PART... do not approach him, make him approach to you, annoy the hell out of him with projectiles in such way that he will need to run to get you

when hes around... keep a bomb in hand, bombs make it easier (at least for me) to handle smaller opponents, also, keep in mind that you need to space cause his fsmash is **** long and dsmash is way too broken/spammable, and also, if you shield his dsmash, dont stepdodge, that smash takes ages to finish when a shield hits... so, when the hitting partt ends, shield grab him (R/L + A/Z), dthrow and start a bair sequence

dont use dair... thunder > dair

try to take the fight to the air though, bair nair and fair are your friends

now... when hes used to you fighting on the air, surprise attackhim with an hyphen smash (DONT FORGET, do this rarely, and only fight him back if he approaches, and the way to make him approach is by outcamping him)


if the pika spams/camps you you gotta spam/camp him bad... know its kind of dull playing this way but its the way to win, hope this helped

That, or duo Pikachu against him.
Chain grab with Pika's D-Throw.

He will stop playing as Pikachu.
