I played a match and got a spike off against somebody with my up-tilt while they were hanging on the edge. It happened very fast.
I tried to recreate this in training mode and could not manage to.
Has anybody else done this?
I have three theories as to how it spiked.
1) This is the most probable theory. They pressed down or away from the stage and got off the stage at the right moment to get hit ny my up-tilt, which would normally send them upwards, but because they were under the edge, they got send upwards into the edge and got stage spiked straight down. I could not manage to recreate this in training mode with my friend when we tried on several stages with different characters.
2) There is a part of up-tilt that spikes and it is very small. This is a possibility.
3) Up-tilt spikes airborne/edgehanging enemies at certain percentages. I don't see this happening, but because I kept trying this at about 100-160% maybe they need to be at a higher or lower percent for this to work.
So if anyone else pulled this off before I would like to here about it. I recommend that you guys go try this out in Training mode with various characters/stages/percentages to see what works.
Please experiment and discuss.
