I don't know if this has been mentioned before. I don't see it in any of the stickies here and I'm not coming up with anything through a search. I know it's been mentioned before as a DI glitch however there's another way to take advantage of this happening that's consistent and makes Toon Link among the most broken characters on certain stages.

How To: The easiest stage to do this on is Coneria (also a nice stage to camp on). Place Toon Link on either slope on the edges of the stage. The opponent doesn't need to be on the slope but Toon Link does. Just down smash and watch as they fly straight off the stage with no chance of recovery. And huge bonus! DI doesn't seem to even dent the knockback this gives.

The Stages: There's a good deal of stages this can be abused on. It's pretty easy to find them, just a stage with a slope on the side. However not all stages have a kill edge close enough for it to be an instant kill. I'll list stages that it can be used as an instant kill on anyone.

Instant Kill (I'll list the spots when it isn't obvious):
Coneria
Delfino Plaza (Sandy Beach Island)
Mario Circuit
Rumble Falls
Pirate Ship (When the ship is on on the rock)
Castle Seige (in the underground when the stage starts teetering)
New Pork City (Right side is instant KO, other two edge slants are not)
Summit (Top platform when it's sliding down the hill)
Electroplankton (There's too many to name off, this stage is a death trap anyways)
Onett
Hyrule Temple (the slant is really small but it's possible on the little gazebo on the left)
Rainbow Cruise (Right edge of the ship, the teeter totter, several of the parts on the top platform)
Brinstar (left platform when the membrane is broken and right platform with or without the membrane)
Big Blue (there's plenty of opportunity in this stage)

Other notable uses:
On Yoshi's Island, or any other stage with side slopes but a kill edge that's too far away, if you're against say Olimar or someone else with similarly horrible recovery you can knock him off with the down smash and edge hog killing him with no chance of recovery unless the side platforms pop up to save him.

There may be some stages that it can be used as an instant kill that I missed.

You also have to face the slope right? Just to confirm.

Never knew of this before. Good for you to dig it up. ^^

EDIT: From 0%, this doesn't work on heavier characters. I know it doesn't work on Bowser, but it works for Snake. This was tested on the left ledge of Corneria since it's a static stage for the most part.

Still good, lol.

Does this mean that for all moves where bad DI would cause huge problems, by standing on a slope facing the correct direction you can cause an instance similar to bad DI regardless of your opponent's DI input?
I don't really know of any other moves like this besides Zelda's Down smash, but if slants really distort DI like this consistently you may have discovered a new strategy.

Cool. I'll try it and see what happens.

I probably won't be able to do this on regular matches because I don't use corneria.

Kizzu posted this vid and later made a thread about how it works and how it's best on slants.

Also, this works on the two ends of Yoshi's Island (Brawl), which is a neutral stage. It can KO Jiggs, not sure about anyone else. Knockback isn't affected by damage in this case.

Yes, I know he mentioned it, but it can KO. But no one uses Jigglypuff anymore for the most part, huh?

Forcing an opponent to use their second jump then doing this technique is too sexy.

Oh, good. Thought there for a second the Tink community was slower than hell. There's also a video response that shows it on slopes: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4waQSen_8zE

I remember the first video from long ago. However people were calling it a DI glitch and I never saw any mention of slopes, ramps or slants. Of course I was never too interested in Tink anyways.
