So after recently playing my new friends beastly redonkulous hands down tier 1 toon link.
(seriously. his mindgames and creativity are top notch.)
I decided to start seconding Toon Link.
I have a few questions for the sake of playing Toon Link well and for beating my friend.
What levels are good for Toon Link?
What levelvs are good counter picks to beat Toon Links?
What characters give Toon L:ink a hard time and I should look out for in tht future?
Thanks.

Yeah, it seems that some TL mains I know also play PT >_>
As for the thread...My Toon Link has trouble against... ... better Toon Links...and sometimes Meta Knight. And I can't think of what else, I'm too busy playing Kirby @_@

I didn't really like pokemon trainer because the stamina thing made the pokemon seem less "whole", if you know what I mean. The necessity to change them.
I might try him later.
On topic: see the match up thread which is stickied, also VietGeek's directory. We're having weekly match up discussions. There is also a stage guide somewhere.

I honestly think that they cover each others short comings very well. Anyone without a projectile I go PT, if they have one I got TL.

Final Destination (that's just me,) Norfair, Battlefield (bounce the 'rang,) Smashville, basically the neutral stages and those without radical landscape differences (except PKMN Stadium 1/2.)
Yoshi's Island is murder for Toon.
From experience, Snake, ROB, and Wolf always give me a hard time, but NO character can get around a good projectile game, always remember that.

Dsmash makes Yoshis island good for TL.

1 Dsmash can kill and character with a bad/ decent recovery when used at the sloped part at the edges of the level.
That should probably be enough to make it a good level for him.

EDIT: I was right, you were talking about that :P. Posted while I was posting :P. I've been using :P a lot lately :P.
I think he's talking about the angled dsmash, for the first hit -- it's a great way to counterpick characters with poor recoveries, but it's no really enough to turn the game around... it's overall just not a great level, it's too uneven to time and space stuff properly... I'm not a huge fan.
My main problem stage is definitely Lylat, which sucks, because not only do the local tournaments think it's a neutral, they've been experimenting with alternative rules -- like "no banning neutrals, no vetoes"... Ouch :{

I'll give it a try; the spinning blocks and the pipe slope make me think it's a stage to avoid (assuming you're playing someone who knows what they're doing, of course.) Unless the blocks are already passable, your projectile game is gimped, and that's always a bad thing for us. Thanks for the tip.

Ohh im sorry you mean melee.
Sorry I thought you meant the Brawl one.
But i guess you can still do dsmash on the right pipe

Oh, yeah... was thinking of Brawl's level as well... the Melee one always slips my mind, since it's not tournament legal in a lot of areas. :P
