Toon Link + Pokemon Trainer players!

Yo. ^_^

So I've noticed that there are quite a few TL/PT players out there. Why these two end up as a pair is a mystery. Personally, they're two of my favourite Nintendo characters so I just have to use them together.

But lately, I've been thinking. I have to buckle down and think about this seriously. So I ask you all...when you're facing someone, when do you choose to use Toon Link and when do you choose to use Pokemon Trainer? We main two versatile characters. Toon Link has his various projectiles and decent speed, but sometimes his lack of range and the difficulty of finding an opening to kill is difficult. On the other hand, Pokemon Trainer is composed of three decent characters with different weights and movesets, and he has to find the right time to switch Pokemon and be aware of fatigue, which adds on to the stale move reduction already in place.

So what do you guys think? The PT board's Pokedex Project is nowhere near complete, and I want to finally get down who can handle what matchups better. Anyone have any experiences with characters they want to share? >_>; I guess I could attempt to start first...in fact, making a list would probably be easier.

I'm not gona waste space. I'll make mine short, simple and to the point. I use either for when I see it best. Otherwise I use PT and if I get a bit bored of winning/losing I switch to TL for some bombing fun. >=D

Hey, Ivysaur isnt that bad, I have fun with him. You just cant be all godly speedy with him because his attacks leave you open. O yeah guys a tip idk if anyone has mentioned yet but last night when I was fighting my friend Redson, I figured out that if you play as squirtle and you want to switch to Ivy, just weaken them to like 70+ %? I want to say? then grab them and backdrop them, send them flying, the moment thay go flying away from you, switch. You get alot of time to switch and possible edgeguard or counter attack with IVy.

Anyway, I got a big lecture on the fundamental basis of how Ivy should be used by Onxy. Basicly from what I got out of him is you abuse Razor leaf and use his vine whip moves as spacing b/t you and your oppontent, (also you can about bullet seed-its perfectly fair due to IVy's disadvantages) then when they are weak enough use his foreward air to finish or tackle, or one of his powerful moves.

I used to think that untill I learned you can recover safetly if you use Side-B on someone whos edgegaurding you.
And his Usmash is beastly.
Also, B is cheap. =D

LOL at Ivy being terrible! She is easily the best Pokemon IMO, but better than Squirtle is fact.

I play both characters but i dont really main either of them. Also for PT it usually just means charizard, squirtle maybe, but never ivy. lol.
