I Forgot to Spam the Lucario Board Last Week... -_-

You see, last week was the Kirby board matchup thread's discussion on Lucario, and I forgot to post a thread on their board. This week is Toon Link, and I've managed to redeem myself.

First order of business: What is the matchup rating? You guys have 70-30 in favour of TL, and we, up until very recently, had it 60-40 in favour of Kirby

Second order: What kind of tactics does a TL use to beat a Kirby? We specifically would like info on you preferred stage counterpicks, favourite kill moves, and the usefulness of your aerials.

EDIT: I may need to start a "completely humiliated me and made me laugh at the same time" list, simply because of what toondiddy did.

But it is different...we never got a consensus last time, this week is completely dedicated to TL, and im doing a full writeup on the matchup (sooner or later)

The matchup thread done by JesiahTEG is old, outdated and highly inaccurate. It probably shouldn't exist. There is a newer and better thread here:

As I just noticed, we haven't done Kirby yet though.

On to the matchup:

I think all Toon Link has going for him in the match is his projectile game, and Kirby's lack of (unless you count the arrows Kirby gets from swallowing Toon Link). Most other things such as better kill moves, aerials, recovery, etc are tipped somewhat in Kirby's favour. The match is probably in Kirbys favour or neutral at best (for Toon Link). Ask Asdioh what he thinks since he seems to play both characters.

I hate playing Kirbys. FOr me it's one of my worst matchups. I give it to Kirby for sure... 60-40 him, if not 70-30. TL is light and Kirby's fsmash is just too beastly. the combos Kirby has from his grabs are also pretty much sure to hit which gets TL to 30-40 percent pretty fast. Combine that with one or two bairs then a fsmash and bye bye toony.

I feel the kirby matchup is more neutral in my experience. Has primary kill move is Fsmash. The hammer is easy to see coming and to avoid. Same with the stone most of the time. His bair is probably my biggest obstacle but it doesn't have the kill power of his Fsmash. But that is in my experience with a few different kirby's. I am no kirby expert.
