Hello everyone! I am currently doing a research project on Brawl for members of the smash lab. They have a couple ideas going around in there and I wanted to test a few of them out for myself. Therefore if you guys would not mind, I would appreciate it if you would help me out.
I would like you, since you know your characters better than I do (probably), to tell me in quick bullet points what the most annoying things for you to play against. I am talking about aspects of match ups that change how the match up plays out. Examples of this would be King Dedede’s standing infinite on Bowser, DK, Mario, Luigi, Samus and himself or grab releases like Marth on Ness/Lucas or Wario’s grab release shenanigans. Basically, anything match up specific where one character has a great advantage over the other character simply because of that move/moves. There’s plenty out there but I want to make sure I have them all! Please list them for me!
Thank you!
Problems:
-Falco's Chain Grab
-King Dedede's Chain Grab

I think Falco has a chain grab.
But I know nothing because I don't have anybody to play with.

Every charecter has different moves, therefore changes how the match up is played. Theres no correct "straightforward" way of playing. No two match ups are exactly alike, even if they can be compared.
But if there had to be an answer to this, it would be Meta Knight.

Metaknight is our worst enemy. :( Falco can also be troublesome. And if he walks while CGing us there's nothing TL can do about it. If they run, we can jump footstool him to escape. Olimar is also a troublesome matchup for TL because our proyectile spam becomes very limited and he can counter our approaches.

Really, to make this simple -
High speed projectile camping like Falco can hinder Toon Link due to TL's camping nature deriving hit and run, as well as mass projectile set-ups that take time to set up. Falco has both the overall speed and projectile speed to force TL to almost go straight offense, which puts TL at a great disadvantage as he must completely abandon a defensive game to go after a "combo" machine that could easily phantasm across the stage and continue to safely shoot lasers while you desperately play cat and mouse.
High speed opponents with long disjointed hitboxes such as MK and Marth are difficult match-ups as their speed and length of reach allow them to cover a great area and close the gap quickly if TL is trying to "set up camp (lol)." This forces TL to commit to a risky hit and run game, where one mistake can cause TL an unnecessary amount of damage.
Also, TL has to challenge MK and Marth's sword to even be able to kill! Toon Link is forced into bad situations simply by facing the match-up. TL, with only one melee attack (Hookshot) to safely poke and set-up with, TL always has to take a reasonable gamble to even get real damage in. Plus, MK & Marth being punishment characters, once TL is cornered, he can't phantasm away, therefore being limited severely.
I hope this made sense. <_<

Falco is such a gay character that he should be banned =[ Other than him, I dont really have trouble with anyone else.

So Falco's CG and D3's CG are the only CG's that really effect his game?

Basically only D3's since Falco's CG only sets up for the gatling combo TL can pretty much meteor cancel the spike. He's light enough to get away and his recovery is, lengthwise, very good.

Basically cause of Toon Links mechanics he too floaty to be chained a long time by anyone else.
A another "chain" that bothers his game is Diddy's banana lock.
