yay for Captain Falcon. Boo for Sonic not being way higher :(
Akward placing for TL, above Olimar. I'd not expect it.
P.S. Wario and King Dedede D tier O_o?
Shows Dedede mains in japan play honorably.

Isn't this that really old, pre-US Brawl release tier list?
LOL @ Peach at bottom of F Tier.

If it was true I would say because the Japanese like the WW series more than we do so more people use him thus making his tourney results/gameplay/etc. higher.

Are there any gameplay differences between JP Brawl and PAL Brawl?
And LAWL Yoshi > Peach

I think he was talking more about the legitimacy of this tier list, as apposed to the debate of tiers themselves. I mean, is this the Japanese SBR's tier list, or is it some random Japanese kid's tier list? And how recent is it? That could be a year old tier list made by a complete scrub that only knows where MK, Snake, and Falco should be based on all the ranting and raving about how good they are. And judging by Dedede's lowness, either this tier list isn't credible, or the Japanese metagame is a lot less chaingrabby than the US

That list was proved fake months ago. It is not by any of the top ranking players in Japan, just a bunch of scrubs. Sorry to say. =/

The wiki attached to this site DOES say that Fox is extraordinarily successful in Japan as opposed to the US, which made me think this might actually be credible.
Anyone know where I can find the REAL Japanese tier list?

Whether or not this tier list is "official," it's like from April-May. It is also a character ranking, not a tier list. It's similar to Ankoku's thread and the current results from the end of the month supposedly get pulled up.
However, its accuracy is in doubt since the topic creator of the Japanese char. rankings thread recently realized he pulled this off of message boards (also the "4-chan" [since that's the most popular English forum to use this system] system of people being Anonymous is popular in Japan. We can't say if it's from some smart casual player or a top ranked player from Bombsoldier's crew, w/e).
Also note cultural difference where Japanese assume (for lack of better word) trust, unlike us where we would , as shown here, immediately question it, reject it, whatever.
Also the Japanese are considered less campy, but they will camp. You see a lot more aggressive play. However, the play that goes down is very honorable.
In his crew, Bombsoldier never once used tornado consecutively on his crewmate DISK, a Marth user. However, Marth abused grab release, and those weird Japanese Dancing Blade mindgames.
I can see that campier characters like D3 and Oli as being less popular. While Toon Link can be very campy, we all [should] know his attributes shine best when he's on the offense.
Someone better read this post.
