Let's give this another go. ITT post you namesake and (if you want) your name IRL. This is no longer specific to Socal, and now open to all of Pacwest! We all wanna know how silentwolf, Gimpyfish, malva00 (>_>), embracethe12, etc. got their names, so this is the topic where we find out.

I'll start. My name IRL is Dante. I main Fox in melee. Dante+Fox=DanteFox. I know that's pretty lame. Now share yours!

Alright, so my name is LunInSpectra.

I actually got most of this name from my dad. My dad was into maintaining a good vocabulary & practicing how well he can articulate his thoughts and feelings. I was playing counterstrike and my dad wanted to know what ingame name I was using (ScorpiRey) -- he told me that I should try using a name that gives off the image of how I play (he played counterstrike for fun, and he always used this name "Mighty Moose"), so he listed off names for me:

Clandes (something like, spy-like or...something I can't remember)
Luna (crazy with the moon or something)
and a darn well amount of others. Well I used Clandes for a while but the name was so...girly...that I dropped it.

I wanted to use Luna, but it was also too girly -- so I put LunSpectra...but that was a little weird because it was oddly romantic. I added the "In" and well, that's history.

I had had a few different aliases in the past, as I'm sure we all have. I already had one or two accounts on this website, but I wanted a fresh account to symbolize my sincere interest in taking Melee competitively. Also, I was worried that someone would see one of my 3 or 4 posts in the Bowser boards and recognize me for the noob that I was.

So it was up to me to make a new account. I thought about Junja, which was the name I made up for my Troll on WoW, and I really considered it for a while. But I knew that a lot of people's SWF names and gamer tags were different, so I thought I would try to think up something else, but if it turned out that I didn't like it I could always make a sig that said Junja.

During the past two or three weeks I had been playing StarFox 64 a lot, and that game has some of the best quotes in forever. So my friends and I had been saying them frequently for the past few days. I wanted to think of something from the game to represent my love for it, but not be lame at the same time. My favorite quote was "Not yet, the party's just begun!" And then it hit me how awesome The Great Leon would be for a name. Because its so presumptuous.

Then I got banned for posting fake porn and The Greater Leon was an obvious pun. It also signified that I was back and better than ever and that the mods couldn't keep us down. Also, StarWolf comes back for a round 2.

Engineer -> I'm big on being an engineer in Team Fortress 2 and I was a Chemical Engineering major at the time I made the account. it made sense:

I needed a new AIM name in the 3rd grade. My old one was "im2good4uand2bad4life".

I just kinda made up dantarion on the spot. Years later, I bought a game called Robot Alchemic Drive, which has giant robots. There is a godzilla spoof in the game named...DANTARION! I shat bricks.

Previous names include Acid^Rain (from IRC) Dabutaru(My Discworld alt) and Rofler.

I had an interest in Organization XIII of Kingdom Hearts 2.
I wanted to make a name for myself, one that fell into Organization XIII's naming standard thus my name was born.

The cloaked beings from Kingdom Hearts were considered "Enigmas" or at least what I believed at the time... In addition to "TheEnigma" people know me to be quite mysterious O_=

I barely look at myself as a wannabe Organization XIII character. I realized couldn't live like that... but I'll keep Marluxia's scythe!

And No..its cause i don't have big nuts...or a third nut...or anything of that sort...

It started in high school football almost 6-7 years ago. My last name has nut in it, so, people called me nuts. Nutz went from the field, to class, to everyday streets. But, since nuts is such a bland name to me, and it was such a common name for me, i adopted it, and i spelt it odd...hense, knuttz...kind of funny, my little cuz has the same nickname as me. he spels it nutz. He got it the same way same reason. (we almost played same position, i was starting FS, he was starting SS...just 4 years apart...but thats off subject...) And the 45..was my number. I couldn't sign up as knuttz, so i went knuttz45. But its knuttz...
WELL...going to smash, I noticed everyone had a nickname, and honestly was an in the closet nerd when i started and didn't want to have some really what "odd" name. So, I used this name knuttz so when my eventual friends I met through smash, and my "other friends" met, They all could call me...knuttz, and not question the nickname. Now, i don't care now...but its more of a convience that everyone calls me...brandon..or knuttz....:)

Got mine off the movie Metropolis (anime). One of the character's name is Atlas, but I accidently spelled it out as Atlus. People still place the 'a' after the 'l' after I register which bothers the s#!+ out me. Others do it on purpose because they think they are being pretty d@mn funny (neadlt). Even though it's Atlus, not Atlas, people have made the assumption with my tag that I know the entire area around me which I sometimes do know so go figure:)

I used this tag on mIRC I used with my pals, when I met pandamasterx4 when he was 6th in socal with his sheik in 2k6 after graduatin' HS I attended pandatration during the summer after he told me to come to it. I was already using this tag on mIRC on the rizon network because my pal who I met him through owned a site called "anikei" which distroed anime. So I just reentered myself in the tourney as sleepy (from HS because I always slept in class, I was a wow addict back in HS). The name was free on smashboards after pandatration and I put shoutouts up and didn't check the site for another year +.

"TheLifeRuiner" came about somewhere in my senior year as my MySpace display name, where I had a friend who kept saying that I was ruining her life by being honest with her about everything. I also thought it was cool because it amuses me to "kill" jokes and because I like to be a smartass. I think there was another reason, but I forget.

in like 6th grade me and some friends made up some kind of religion
as an excuse, because in art class we alway drew pictures of people dying lmao.
the teacher got really into it and thought it was real
so every day he would ask us "how is the twelve today?"
and stuff. Like he would tell us he checked on the internet and couldn't find
any trace of the 12. lmao.
I dunno, whenever we got in trouble or did something wrong we would say that
we haven't "embraced the twelve" that day
and from then on whenever the teacher passed us he said "embrace the 12"

At some point in HS, I was watching the spelling bee (I know, I was amazingly cool and still am) and the winning word was "pococurante" - which means something like indifferent... now, being a typical "cool" high schooler who "didn't care about anything", i thought it would be cool, so i started using the name when i played CS

Then I shortened it to "poc" at some point in irc so it wouldn't be super long and take up a lot of space

Then one day, my clan was doing gimmick names to try to look like little kids, so I tacked on a suffix and a face and it became "pocky :D"

Then, when I had to register for stuff, a space and a colon weren't viable characters, so it became "pockyD"

It has nothing to do with the candy, and the D is part of a smiley face (hence 'pocky smiles' like brandon uses)
