Kinda Epic Explosive Duel #36 - Link

In my experience (which isn't that extensive for this matchup, but still) Tink vs. Link is a battle of extremes. Both characters like to be set up in a particular way, and once someone gets off balance a lot of damage happens before things get under control again.

Toon link's shortness is annoying to Link, but can be dealt with. His midair vs midair game, however, is a royal pain in the backside, which is precisely what Link doesn't like having to handle. As long as Link is set up and grounded, though, Tink's approach is kind of meh, and Link can win the defensive spacing game thanks to his bigger size overall. Also, having a useful kill move is really handy.

I think the matchup is pretty even, but it's not going to look like that if you watch any individual stock; domination one way or the other is the rule of the day, even if the direction is inconsistent from one minute to the next.

i never really hated TL's ( used to main them for a month) but i switched back after playing OoT and watching pro-links.

You guys are lucky to have chip, a mod to represent you. You at least won't be abused and harassed like the Link and sonic boards are occasional.

contrary to belief, Link may kill better but only at like 10-5% or something. TL also can set up his kills unlike Link so TL is actually BETTER at killing.

I still think its an even match. After all we are talking about opposites here that can cancel each other out. What one hasnt the other has. So it's all a matter of skill vs skill or major luck.

Heh, you've never seen a Link that uses that like I do. Ask any Link main, they'll say the same thing lol.

Thinking about it..I'm gonna have to agree with Bomber and call this Ratio Paradox. Yeah you can gimp us, but our projectiles make it hard to approach and you did make the very good point, H_R, that Link uses his projectiles not only to rack up damage like TL but Link forces opponents too approach him into getting raped by super sexy jab cancel combos (You know what I'm talking about. ;D) and other stuff. While TL can KO us early via gimping we can also KO Toon Link pretty early with our better KO power and Toon Link's light weight, fear the Dair. And, as you saw and commented on H_R, Link is VERY hard to kill without gimping because of his great DI.

For one thing, he thinks Link has an advantageous matchup. That alone is lolz. Keep it at 6/4 TL.

Just because we can hit him with stronger attacks doesn't mean we can KO him easier than he can us. TL can just as well put us off stage and gimp very easily. So there lies your 'kills'.

A. Worst. Ratio. Ever.

B. If you're just guessing from things you heard go play against a decent TL and learn the match up. What a kid.

C. Wtf, Link's favour? Learn the match up. TL can out spam Link, and gimp Link. Don't get Dsmashed. It kills Link at pretty much any %.

D. TL's really not stupidly light, Dair is the only move that kills him particularly early because his recovery doesn't suck.
