Does anyone have an effictive way to use Fair? It is pretty hard to lock on. Due to TLs lack of kill power this move could be helpful if we can find a way to use it nicley, anyone have any ideas?

Space it. Use it off the stage. I use fair alot in combo's too.

I use an Usmash, followed by a f-air, it usually hits.

I use Fair when the opponents at the corner of a platform to knock them off (even if they shield).

Also, after bombs/ boomerangs.

Fair works by doing the 100% working spike except do a forward air instead of the dair.

I do it the same way as doing Cfalcons knee: full hop, Fair + Fast fall
usually as a follow up

Its possible to use a Fair --> Nair in 1 short hop, is useful as a mini mindgame. Most people will shield the Fair and then unblock to come punish you but then they get hit by the nair :)

I like using Fair when my opponent is on a platform. Usually the plats on Battlefield....if they shield the fair.. it usually knocks them off and they fall flat on the ground... this is a free Usmash for a kill or jab into something else if they aren't at killing percent.

I love fair offstage... even though Nair is probably better since it doesn't knock them high. But fair really catches people offguard sometimes with it's punch.
I also use fair to pop the balloon on smashville :) It feels so right.

I most of the time use it after a Fthrow. It's a perfect spot.

I've done that a few times, I feel satisfied after popping the balloon

I usually use FAir when my opponent's below the stage, usually all their worried about is recovering horizontally, so I just drop down their and greet them with my nice FAir, and it KO's them. I believe it is possible for a ZAir to FAir follow up, but I'm not completely sure. I usually drop below the stage, and hit my opponents with a rising FAir as I get back up when I'm on the ledge.

idk what it is, but I just love SHfair -> Nair

but really passed that all I use it for is to have a wide hit range when I don't know what my opponent's going to do off ledge, and if I don't have a bomb in hand at the time. I find this works nicely vs. anybody with a ledge attack you can jump over for now you don't have to worry about it.

oh and edgeguarding.

well... that's false. sometimes I rush after a boomerang and do a SH Fair in addition to it then Quick Draw right afterwards. It makes a nice wall. *returning boomerangs, it's impossible to catch a rang going forward

I found something with FAir when I was playing the other day. Probably already known, possibly useless, maybe I was hallucinating, anyway, here goes.

I FFd a FAir on accident, was about midway through the animation when I landed next to my opponent, and the hitbox still came out, even though the sword hadn't fully extended for the attack.

Spaced fair quickdraw is good for putting pressure on opponents at high percents. Also, what santi said about platforms too.

I zair them :)

What Sasuke said, If thier downed on a platform, wait for them to stand up, attack, roll, whatever, and fair. Can't count the number of kills i've gotten that way.

Serious play aside, I sometimes just Fair in friendlies because I need that SMACK of satisfaction.

It just feels
just
so GOOD hitting someone with Fair.

Its like biting into a very crispy apple.
Know what I mean?

Somtimes when they are above me in the air trying to come down i slide left to right in a small space then when they are closer i quickly jump with a fair works nice somtimes.

I do it with back air too. When i can read spot dodges as well i jump wait for the spot dodge to end then BAM FORWARD AIR.

The most useful way I've seen it used was mentioned. Its when ur opponent is on one of the plats on BF then they have to roll to get up, that works real well also on SV. But zair to fair, ive tried, works sometime to. As well as umash to fair. Offstage it is useful to but it has some start up lag and the enemy can usually just hit u before u can get the move out. Fair to an arrow cancel works nicely too, but nair is better for that. Another way i find it helpful is when u are offstage and trying to get back on the opponent doesnt usually see that comming.

I end up using fair a lot lol. I usually use it when my opponent is recovering and take advantage of its nice knockback.

I find it most effective after a back throw off the stage, then jump off the ledge and intercept them as they recover. Works best around 60%.

Like everyone else said Fair is amazing as a kill move off stage.

I also like to bait my opponent in with projectiles and then fair them for the kill if they approach from the air.
