Well, the switch happened much sooner than I thought, and for most of you it should now work using 'smashboards.com', so you don't have to use the IP address anymore.

We didnt... but our host offered us a FREE server upgrade, so why not :P

I would guess faster loading time or something... but it sounds cool, cause we got updraded!

Good for us then, we can use new connection speeds all the time, when you surf the net as much as I do! :)

BTW: hope you get to post 10,000 soon Gid! :)

Is it just me, or does the last poster seem alot like Yoshi-Lord? Oh God...

Anyways, Gid, SWF was down for me from about 12 to 3 PM ET, and it said not just "web site is not responding", also "web site cannot be found. make sure the address is correct and try again". It's been doing this off and on today... Does this have anything to do with the server switch?

This may not be nessisary but I feel obliged to do this, today I had the hardest time finding SWF's, and thanks to inferno I found it at this site 66.246.8.106 (http://66.246.8.106) now for my question. Is this the site or is their another link that leads me to SWF's? if this is the link will it change in the future? :shyguy: :beezo:

Thats the IP, but starting tomorrow everyone's DNS shoudl be updated and you will be able to access the boards via smashboards.com again. Most of the people can already do it now, but if your ISP is slow at updating the DNS pointers than you will still have to use the IP for a day or so.
