In late June, my friend Fino and I will be teaming up in the Gigabrawl tourney at JCCC for Midwest Players.
He uses Olimar and I was wondering if anybody could tell me any specific strategies with TL and Olimar together if you have teamed up with an olimar or if you have encountered this team...or if you are just very knowledgeable ^_^

Grabbing the ledge is an automatic Olimar gimp. If your partner is recovering make sure there's no one on the ledge.

when it comes to a 2v1, and your opponent is on the ledge, have olimar stand grab-length away from the edge and keep grabbing, why you as tl jump up and down behind him using your choice of projectiles.
also i forget whether we were actually successful with this but i think we could have the olimar u-throw, tl spikes, and olimar grabs again on their way down

Wow that would be amazing in a 2v1
Thanks for the advice you two ^_^

Please use this (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=199596) thread for small stuff like that, dude.
Against Olimar, don't use a lot of bombs and arrow cancel everything. =/
Nair -> quickdraw is good.

Sorry, I didn't really read it thoroughly. ._.
Idk then. I've never teamed with an Olimar. >_>;
Don't hit each other with projectiles?

Don't use bombs too much, they can take out pikmin.

TL grab, Oli up air, TL full hop up air.
That's what I've used before on a 2v1 situation and it worked.

Hey anyone know how a G&W whom uses the key and block alot and attempts many grabs and judegements and a toonlink whom short hops and zairs alot, and uses a high projectile game work together as a team?
I mean we get punished cause he goes ver high in the air alot and leaves me near the ground to get double teamed in an attempt to key which is too slow and obvious to help. and he turtles a few times but is still a bit obvious

Jump, Z-Air, jump, nutral air, land cansel arrow, jump back double arrow, repeat. Gr8 spacing technique:bigthumbu

yea when it works
cause usually its short hop zair (shielded and a bit approached)
short hop nair to arrow cancel (shieled and somehow grabbed through the arrow :/ )
so normally I'd have to keep a more than a chain's worth distance and force an approach with rangs and bombs and ACing till the close in and quickly chain them and if it works then follow it up with a short hop nair, arrow cancel, then RAR bair which leads to A shield so you land behind and grab, or a bair combo if it hits.

Pick Final Destination as a stage, since there would be more space for your projectiles to control. Since Olimar's Up-B is a tether recovery, make sure no one is on the ledge, or toss a bomb so he can get a second chance for a tether.
Normally, it's Toon Link's job to spam projectiles (rack damage)while a second guy goes for all the kills. I'm not at all familiar with Olimar's kill moves, but you should try to work something out with it.

the bomb thing won't work unless there is friendly fire and ff with toonlink and olimar is not good if toonlink is providing cover.
I mean it's a good team. Olimar has more kill range and toonlink has more damaging range with the projectiles.
i mean just over olimars weak spots with arrow cancels bairs nairs and zairs with a constant `rang and let olimar do what he does best. It would also be good to do some grab and smash combos since they both have long range grabs (olimar's is better grab, tink is better smash)
But it's not just the characters you guys play styles have to synch at some point. I like attacking at different times with partners cause that makes the enemies dodging less efectively since the attacks are amost continous that way.

Friendly fire is always on in doubles tournament matches.

Wow ok thanks guy...idk..this could be either really good or really rough cause we can rack up damage easily but olimar is purely defensive and our projectiles are kinda voided in this match

I say you team kill him then tell him to use a real character

Against TL, Olimar is a real character. But if you think about it Olimar is spammier than MK because all but two (I think) of his moves use pikmin. Three if you count his v-B as not using pikmin.

He's got six actually: f-tilt, u-tilt, d--tilt, jab combo, dash attack, and nair
I only know this bc i play solimar for fun

Oh, I thought he just had u-tilt and nair.
Although I should've seen jab combo. I knew that one.
This is turning into LOLimar discussion. Are we done with this thread or what?
