View Full Version : I'm changing my policies on individual video threads.

I think that it's fine and almost necassary to have people create their own thread entitled to their own videos for other people to view. This way, the thread can easily be updated by the player who created it and other people can view, hand out advice, critique, etc. all in one thread for just one person. With that said, those videos still need to be posted in the Video Record Discussion thread (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=196130=196130") which from now on will serve as a record and collection of videos of every player and not for advice or critiquing. That's the player's responsibilty to post their videos in that thread as well and no one else's.

Since this is in other character forums I imagine it won't be a problem with other mods that I do this. If it is, PM me about it =).

I'll go and unlock the individual video threads that I can find for now. If you're someone who wants their video thread open and I can't find it, PM me or leave me a shoutout and I'll get to it.

That's all. Soooooo yeah. Gogohavefunz0rz?

Um...well...I guess this is cool? I just feel like it's going to create so many unnecessary threads...but hell...I would like a thread to put my videos in...

hmm, I made an "official rate my kirby" thread in the Kirby boards a while back because I was sick of seeing tons of threads by random people wanting advice on their characters. I think this was done in the TL boards too (haven't checked here in a while) but do what you think is best.

Also, I was given the stickied video thread in the Kirby boards since the old owner no longer comes on very much, and I made it so that in the OP, I just gave a link to peoples' posts, and they updated their own videos in that post. *shrug*

While I think this is nice, because it cleans up the video thread, and allows an easier spread for critique so one post doesn't get recognized more because it's more recent.

It kinda makes the forums a bit unorganized don'cha think? Like... I'unno it's weird. I'm for it, I just don't want to see it overlap things like Matchup discussions, Counter/Ban discussions, the important stuff to the metagame.

idk how one would fix this problem, and I'm not really sure if it's much to be concerned about at all.

Otherwise this is great news, and kinda cleans up the video thread.

I'm just afraid that it will be cluttered with friendlies. Combo videos, tutorials, and demonstration videos are welcome I guess, since they can spark a large discussion, but regular matches should be sent to the regular video thread.

Agreed. That seems perfectly fair ^^

I was actually thinking the complete opposite of Twink's idea.

I mean demonstrational vids and tut's usually revolve around AT's, submit it to the growing AT thread, SasukeBowser's done a terrific job doing just that.

Personally I'd prefer personal threads be kept to a showcase of one's Tink in actual matches, and the critique be done in there, instead of stuffing everybody's critique and want for critique into one packed thread. You see what I'm saying?

Like comments on a combo vid in the video thread work perfectly fine, we could build up comments like "oh this was incredibly entertaining" and easily sort through all that stuff. It'd kinda be a waste to have personal showcase threads end up as that, instead of viewing the thread with critique.

I guess what I'm saying is. These threads would serve alot more purpose as an organizer for critiquing ones TL, instead of threads for combo vids and such. Not to say both can't coincide in one's thread, just saying the purpose would be much better for matches to be critiqued.

THe problem with individual video threads is that ppl sometimes completely ignore them :(. Even when u ask for critiques. :/. Like mine >_>. Yeah, I should be used to it by now lol. This is a oood idea imo but it gets frustrating when u never get a critique.

But this helps that situation lol.

instead of your post for critique getting overshadowed by the sudden flow of new videos coming in without wanting critique, you can now get individually recognized much easier.
