Well we have been with the new popup advertising company for quite some time now, and they are doing a great job. For the most part people have been reporting that they get a maximum of one popup per page, with a few exceptions, and for the most part they have been "clean" ads, some even pertaining to our genre (xbox and video game ads). Anyway, these past 3 weeks I have noticed an unfavorable trend in our click through percentage.
Ad companies like to see a .25% Click Through Ratio (CTR). We started out strong and maintained a .25% CTR for about a month. About 3 weeks ago it dropped to .19%, and then 2 weeks ago down to .13%, and then this past week down to .06%. However, our average is still fairly decent in the high teens, but it won't stay that way with percentages under 10 each week.
This is just an encouragment announcement to remind everyone that SWF is not free to run. I haven't bugged you too much lately, and I don't want to nag, but we really need some more support for our sponsors. Supporting the popup ads as well as the banners would be a huge help.
Thank you.

I have a question. Sometimes, especially with the "Infospace" popups, I'll click them, and the site it's advertising says "Page Cannot be Displayed." Either something's wrong with my browser of the site. Does it still count because I clicked it, or will it not count since the page is down. If it doesn't count, I know you can't change which ads you have, but you could notify your ad server to get that site back so it counts for the click-thru rate.

well, if its a popup that requires you to fill out info and you didnt, maybe thats why its not working... Ive never received those errors, but I will look into it.

No, it's just a normal popup. And when I click it, it says "Page Cannot Be Displayed." I'm pretty sure the titlebar is "Infopop" or "Infospace" or something like that.
*EDIT* It's definitely Infospace, I just got it again. Clicked it, and it didn't work. I'm thinking there's something wrong with the site.

This has happened about 4-5 times tonight. I am just looking around smash boards and a pop up of "AMERIPATH" comes up. When the title bar says -microsoft internet...- I can close it, but when the title says "ameripath" I ant close it and my computer freezes. Very annoying. Is there anyway to fix it?
do you only have to click on the inital pop-up for it to register??
or do you have to go deeper into the actual page that comes up once you click on the pop-up?
me hopes you can understand that.
its just that i dont want to waste my time clicking on the pop-ups if it isnt doing any good.

banners aren't as important as popups :)
some of you may not be getting as many popups because fo your privac y setting... mine is on medium ,so it blocks some of the third party cookies which results in less popups... I get a max of one per page.

Privacy settings are different depending on computer and internet service provider.
Your old user was deleted in the crash.
And yes, this site does rock.

I have the same pop-up as tissue reported.
I get it mainly in the Lighthouse though. I never bothered enter info because I don't know what it is.

I think you guys are talking about the username/password box that came up because of the Topsites... and Gid fixed that after I told him. So don't be surprised if you don't get that pop up again, but if it's something else, just... uh... ignore me, I guess.
