Does the element you choose effect anything? Not the one that is assigned to you by your character choice, the one you choose.

I'm not sure, but I think that the element you choose affects some stats, for example (I'm just guessing here) electric gives you more MP, while fighting give you more AP.

Oh, and now that I think of it, can you delete your character? Once you get past level 5, are you stuck with it forever or can it be reset?

Element affects your HP, MA, and AP.

As for your other question, you're stuck forever.
