Hmm, does for Marth. Always. I can't image a strong different in Marth and Roy's down smashes...

I believe it was Mike's DK that beat him.

Lunadis

It was, I hope they recorded it because I can't imagine it. DK beating a swordsman? 0o

Hmm I must suck or something, cause I'm actually talking about Marth. (but my thinking was that their anti-rolling strats couldn't be that different...)

usually when someone rolls, you grab them neverdown smash that moves way too laggy

Lunadis
07-15-2004, 12:17 AM
It depends really.

Who's doing the smashing and who's rolling.

Ken, how do you properly use the Kendash? i try it, but i get hit out of it all the time

sephirothken
07-15-2004, 04:05 AM
the kendash isnt hard to do , all it takes are 2 basic things.

1) be sure not to move left and right too fast but move in a rhythme

2) fast reactions

there ya go : P

err....
1) u have to kno ur options coming out of a dashdance:
grab
shfflc'ed aerial/whatever
DED/SD
smash/tilt (if can do the fancy stuff)

2) u have to kno when to use dashdance:
after an attack that's blocked
while opponent is down
in place of a roll/dodge
in place of a WD

3) mix and match while applying what ken said, lol.

bah, dont trust me fully, i suck

ps: ken ill see u this saturday if i can make it... you can't escape destiny! :p last time i was beaten down b4 i could blink... this time i'll at least blink once, cause i'll stall!! muhahahahahaha ;)

don't hate, appreciate

new roy tip:

use sword dance when you are close to your opponent followed by down as the 3rd hit so you wont get sheild grabbed

I like his Up B.

Alot.

Lunadis

I already used this dashing method before I found out about this site. I usually did it when they try a dashing attack and I have no time for an aerial or any ground attack.

Hey Ken, how effective is short-hop fast-fall reverse-blazer spamming? It seems like an invulnerable tactic to me, but maybe there's a way around it?

I am also curious as to how this glitch can be used. I am practicing to get consistent with it in the air, but I don't know if it is worth it, since it is pretty situational, and very hard.

Say, I've always wondered if Roy has any usefull openers. I play with him once in a while when I get bored of Marth, and unlike Marth he doesn't have range nor Marth's ****** throws.. so, does he have any unpunishable attacks to spam around?

Cloud Strife X

Sword dance.....

Kendash, don’t tell me it’s a trademark now, LOL. Sometimes the oldest techniques are the best ones.

sephirothken
07-22-2004, 09:40 PM
roys better for his return but it sucks because he isnt floaty
sword dances for sure
his tilt down is really good since it allows him to combo with it
his down throw is alot beter than marths
he is stronger if you know how to hit ppl with his sweet spot

conclusion~
roys all about ground so lots of sword dancing and crouch canceling : P

Rune

Hmmm, but wouldn't you just get shieldgrabed out of swordsdance?
Also, do his fair, dair, nair have any use if you learn to use them, and if so, what use?

Shadows
07-23-2004, 12:33 PM
Fair, Nair, Dair can be used for for Damaging and linking combo's together, like for example's, time to times, I can link a dtilt>Fair>Uair once only because they figure it out and DI at the next.

Or you can Use your fair's in SHFFLC repeatedly as a semi push, but it almost never works...

Edit: Roy throw's are almost (keyword Almost) as good as Marths, He can do some of the CG's marth can (Fox, Falco, etc), but it will never be as good as marths.

Is it true that you can spike the space animals with Marth/Roy COunters. Down+B?

Shadows
07-23-2004, 01:25 PM
It sends them up at an angle then down at an angle at high percentage's.

Edit: Did anyone know that Marth has a spike with this Sword Dance? (Foward; Foward; Down?)

TWP
07-23-2004, 01:36 PM
Yeah I know that...

I think someone called it the blue spike.

At any rate, I'm not fast enough to use it in real matches, but I'm sure many people make great use of it...especially in the PAL version where the d-air is a meteor spike and hard to hit.
