View Full Version : Would this combo work?

Gdorf Combo against fastfallers from 0% (Tested on Fox).

1) Grab them, throw them down.
2)Do three Gerudo Dragons
3)Grab him before he lands and throw him up.
4)Chain up throws until he has 100 percent.
5) FInish him with a forward or upsmash.

I'm not sure if it would work for the following 2 reasons.

1) I'm thinking they may be able to tech out of your Gerudo Dragons (Though that seems higly unlikely at lower percentages)
2)I'm not sure if Ganondorf, with his slow speed, can keep up if the opponent DIs correctly out of your up throws.

I was also thinking, they could DI away from your upthrow when you try the finishing blow, but even so, you can follow up the chain throws with a uair, which should still reach them if you run or wavedash forward. Actually its seems to me you can follow this combo up with a couple of options, or just be happy at the damage you did.

Due to a lack of human competition, I have been unable to test whether this combo can truly work and be used consistently. So someone tell me, CAN it be used consistently, and would it work in high level play?

Thx in advance.

Yeah, I think characters of all falling speeds will get out of this contraption of a combo.

Ok, so let's drop the Gerudo Dragon part. Can someone tell me if Ganondorf can keep up with the DI of a fastfaller? Because if he can, even without the Gerudo Dragons, this would be effective.

It might be able to work at REALLY low percentages yes.

At 30%ish I say they'd get out long before the combo finished.

So this combo boils down to....

Chain throw.

Yes, thank you, and unless you have something constructive to say, please don't post.

It can still work if they tech. You just have to follow the techs. Gerudo Dragon is fast enough.

I suppose you could chain the up throw, assuming you can follow your opponent's DI, but I think you'd be better off chaining the upthrow to an uair or another aerial, and then go from there.

I think your combo will not work on experienced players. If they techroll away from a Gerudo Dragon, you run the risk of Ganon missing and falling on his face, to which he will eat an fsmash or similarly powerful attack.

4)Chain up throws until he has 100 percent.
Your opponent wont just fall back happily into your arms, once he's this high in %, he'll be mid-air jumping away, or counterattacking as soon as he gets any breathing space. There wouldnt be more than one or maybe two up-throws on any decent player.

I'd prefer chaining d-throw to bair. Uair is also good. And if you're real cheeky/lucky, landing a fair will make you a happy warlock. ^^

I believe fox/falco cannot double jump after the uthrow until they reach around 100%. They could still DI though, which you can follow if you're precise enough.

I'd like to know what the best combo against fastfallers is. The one I do so far is: down air, gerudo dragon, down smash, and then do a forward/down aerial.

Is there any combo better than this, cause I would like to know.

Suretman, there's a bunch of great combo's in Shin Ganondorf's guide that you should check out. But yours seems good too. I'd pop in a jab between the dair and the gerudo dragon for an extra 7 or 8 damage. I call it the "casual punch."
