View Full Version : A shuffled desynch?

Alright, I've been fooling around with the Ice Climbers in training mode 'cuz, to be honest, mine suck compared to my other characters. I was rapidly doing shuffled nairs and something a bit weird happened (partially 'cuz I was going on a hunch). I would shuffle... And I would sometimes get a dysynched ice block. I think I got the desynch four times (out of lots of tries). One time I had Nana ice block and Popo shield (I was actually attempting to do that).
I'm wondering how I'm getting the desynch. I think it might have something to do with a buffer, possibly the L+A buffer. Which might have a very narrow frame window. Normally I wouldn't bother on something so trivial, but the potential for desynching shuffled nair is just too great to ignore if it's repeatable.
I'm gonna' go experiment some more to see what I can find on it... If anyone else wants to waste a few hours on it, go ahead. If anyone had experimentation ideas, that'd be cool, too.
EDIT: I just got it to work again with a shuffled nair followed by a desynched downB (twice). It looked fast enough to *combo* if I could hit it consistently.

That's very interesting. Maybe you hit A and B by accident? That might make Popo do Nair and Nana do Ice Shot because you hit B before Nana leaves the ground. It might be possible because everything Nana does happens 6 frames (1/10 of a second) after Popo.

That does not seem to be what has been happening during my repititions.
But since you did mention it I just go Nana to ice block while Popo full jumped a nair.
This experimentation is driving me freaking insane... I definitely need to turn the sound off for this... v.v;

EDIT:
In latest news, I've given up.. The constant boinging has gotten into my head... And I need food... And stuff...... Stupid... Boing...... .. next time I fight a wavedancing Ice Climber.... I swear I'll... ::goes off::
no idea how you got ice block unless you happened to be grazing the b button without realizing it, but the desynch isn't that wierd. you can desynch with the ic's by jumping, then right as you land, jump again. popo will jump, whil the stupid one will stay on the ground. if you're trying to do that, you can get her to do a utilt or something while you uair, just to be cool and cover more ground or something...

What was unusual about it was that Nana did the action instead...

There's alot of vids of him on the DC++ hub.
sorry to hear you have given up on the IC's PXTalon. I understand how nervewracking it can be to train with the IC's, but desynching is one of the most important aspects of their play (besides grabbing) so if you ever hope to play the IC's, then you must perservere through all the sfx(maybe put on some good chilled out music and mute smash) and learn how to de-synch at will and learn how to move with the desynch so you can get around(yes I know this SOUNDS impossible, but it really isn't) for example: once you get a de-synched ice block(and they are alternating perfectly) wait until nana is doing her ice block, then while she is doing it, press foward B to spin foward with popo, or backwards b to spin in the other direction. Either way popo will go the direction, and then as soon as nana's Ice block finishes, she will walk in the direction popo spun, and if you do this correctly, then they should still be de-synched. also you can alternate directions with the de-synched Ice Block by just simply de-synching and while nana is doing hers, tilt the control stick the opposite way nana is facing, then press b with popo then popo will do the ice-block in the opposite direction that nana origionally did it, then when nana turns around, do it the opposite direction that she origionally did it, then while she is doing it, turn around with popo and repeat process. but, i guess I should stop telling everyone all my trademark IC's tricks:p
