This match up is pretty hard for Falcon IMO.
Falcon cant jab to grab or aerial because of CC and tilts that juggle the spandex wonder.
Falcons recovery is easily slapped.
I don't know really when to use what throw against Sheik and how to edge guard her. I sometimes get lucky spiking the smoke.
If I go air born I'm hit with a slap.
Raptor boost (side B) is always stopped by Dsmash.

I don't think I am the only one with trouble agianst Sheik...Shes top 3 for a reason.
I have not seen any CF vs Sheik vids around either.
Thanks for the input and help.

You Might want to try these reasons:

1. Shield grabbing is always effective to computers...just make sure to shield grab right when she grabs because either the computer or the human wont grab for a while and hold L until she pulls of a smash or something other than plain a which gives you time to grab.

2. Combos using Up+b

3. keep spiking... luck will always come

You can upthrow chain sheik at certain percentages. Sheik is at that in between weight where at low percentages you can follow the tech and at higher percentages d/u throw knee. Sheik's tilts have a lot of priority over falcon's aerials though, so it's not a very fun match up for falcon.

Up throw can chain at low percents on Sheik, and down throw can lead to knees at mid to high percents.

Using more nairs will keep you from getting slapped as often, because it can outrange the slap.

Your best bet while edgeguarding is probably using an Uair while both of you are well off the stage to send her further back, while you use your second jump and up b to return to the stage safely, Sheik is generally difficult if not impossible for Falcon to spike if she recovers correctly.

But like you said, tilts, especially up tilts juggle Falcon like crazy, and his recovery is lackluster at best, so staying away from the edges is usually your best option towards staying alive. Once you're off you're probably dead even at low percents. Changing the trajectory of your up b and learning to sweet spot the edge can save your life once or twice though, so keep that in mind.

Hope this helps.

Remember you can down throw chain grab sheik also. Use the nairs and try to get some grabs(which falcon is generally good at)

sheik is weak from below. Falcon's up air is great to abuse this.

Thanks alot for the tips. Im really confused as to what to do against Sheik close range tho.
Good advice its working:) Up air is awesome. Thanks alot.

Also what I like to do it wait for Sheik to needle alot then Ill jump at Sheik agressively and either DDance or Aerial, it makes them think a bit. Main point is Ill make sheik think twice about needles every now and then.

When you dash in for an attack, which you'll be doing often, mix up between grabs and shorthopped fairs. If she shields, l cancel and either dodge or grab her first. Up throw to uair to knee sometimes works. Try dashing in, shorthopping, flying PAST her and doing a bair. That way she can't shield grab you or anything. Off the edge, the knee is usually a better alternative to the spike.

Avoid Falcon's smashes, they're all too slow to compete with Sheik, except maybe the upsmash but only after the up throw. And of course if you see an opening or whatever.

CF can chain-throw Shiek at medium percent with u-throw... Then combo to the knee if the Shiek gets careless.

He can also D-Throw then spike when over the edge. If you time it right, you can hit Shiek after she mid-airs... but most players will attempt to meteor cancel it anyway.

Needles are invaluable aginst CF's recovery. And that darn slap combined with CF's fall speed... perfect setup for needles...

Tight matchup for sure...

In tight spaces, shuffle n-airs or b-airs, depending on which way you're facing. They're quick, which is what you need, and n-air gives Falcon some range.

Spiking Sheik is hard. Mix it up by doing both forward-facing and backwards-facing u-airs when edgeguarding.

Juggle with u-air as much as you can.

There are not many moves in the game that can give a chance to grab before being shield grabbed. SHBs can stall the shields, shine can be activated before the grabs, but CF cannot fair, connect with the shield, l-cancel, and avoid the grab. You have more chances with a single hit nair.

Jump nonstop to avoid needle spam, and avoid the knee as a rush in move. Instead, try to get as many grabs as you can. The more grabs you bet , the better chance you have to win. Use nair to outrange her, and use Up+A in juggling and lead in situation (up air to a shield, followed by an L cancel to a backroll is very hard to shield grab, even for Shiek). Off the edge, I have my own strategy specifically for Shiek. Stand with your back near the edge, and when Shiek is approaching jump off and slightly above the ledge and do a spike. A good shiek will see this coming and try to sweetspot the edge, but the trick is to time the spike so that you can grab the ledge as you fall, and hit R quick enough to ledge guard her. If they make adjustments and overshoot the ledge, quick hop off of it and knee. If they try to speed to the ledge to avoid the spike, use a quick up aerial to knock them away. (up aerial in the one move that can consistently hit her as she's reforming from the smoke on the ledge)

one thing ive found pretty useful against sheiks is you dash dance to nair right to dashing grab, you can usually grab em right out of the nair with an l cancel, unless you get sheild grabbed :chuckle:

A good falcon player never DI's because it puts him into combos. Also try to hit your opponet with attacks. That's also good. And another tactic is to try to beat them sometimes...That's what I do atleast.
