whats the best way to fight a good marth player with falcon
like how is one to set up good combos and finish them up strong
help please
gotta avoid getting knocked off because once you are off against a good marth, you are dead. its that simple. marth is pretty easily comboed though so once you hit him once he should die.
Edit: im really tired right now. i will edit/repost with better advice tomorrow.

Marth eats a lot of down air into knees at mid percentage...Neutral air into grab works really well on him. Crouch cancel all his ariels and jab into grab the marth. Practice sweet spotting the edge...Always save your second jump for the sweet spot cause their is a good invisible grab there , that makes it hard for the marth to hit the falcon off stage when edge gaurding. At low percentage, 0-10, you can knee into grab, up throw up air. Just own the marth. It's not that hard.

Beware of Marth's BBB combo, they can be a pain in the *** for Falcon.
Also edgeguarding against Marth is important. Bair, fair of uair can do wonders, since Marth's recovery isn't that good.
And I'd say, check the moast vids, Ken (Marth) vs. Falcon (Isai) (10 times), there should be enough study material in there

sigh...
i feel your pain. I have the displeasure of fighting someone who plays as falco, marth and peach........
anyways, against marth, dash dance is your friend.
you can actually weave in and out of his attacks with dash dances, and punish with the KNEE.
for more info, please look at my falcon faq.
you can also chain d-throws at zero to him

Yeah, mind games are very important against Marth, you want to be able to fake him out then punish.

that's basically how falcon is played.

yeah, let me repeat that. it's 10 videos of america's best players playing just the roles you want.
anyway, falcon vs. marth is a match of punishment. he falls nicely into your combos, and you fall nicely into his. which means, you really want to win the approach game. be aggressive, but also make an effort to avoid marth's fair, fb and grab. if you're on the defensive, try to make a quick turnaround and turn marth's advantage into combo opportunities of your own.

falcon, vs marth, is a test of who is better at approaching.
Remember that.
nair is your best friend off of d-throw, which can then lead into the KNEE. Also, tech-chase marth when he techs off the d-throw

well this might be a bad techinike but once a marth gets me into a combo at low percentage i just let him until the combo is done then depending on were i am at the end i attack...............one of the main points of this fight is that falcon can take more dmg then marth before diying this means that marth hitting you ten times= falcon hitting marth like 5 i usually try to inflict the most dmg then finish him off with something simple...the fsmash aslso works against marth(used as mind game) if u get him u have enough knoback to do some serious dmg
this is my opinion
that is a terrible, terrible idea. if you let a good marth have his way with you once he starts it you will always end up getting tippered and once you are off the stage you can kiss that life goodbye. Falcon can only take damage until he gets knocked off, because unless you have some mad Isai skills or the marth totally screws up you aren't coming back.

im just saying maybe the getting hit part is wrong but the fsmash works well im telling u but this u have to catch him off gurad( off a tech roll or soemting)
also, since falcon can jump from one side of the field to another u can always jump, most likely the mrth will be expecting dair or the knee but u dont do that because he will most likely tach rooll and be waiting for u wat u do is land then do dsmash 9it worked for me a few times)
keep in mind the me and most people i play with only play on final destination with no items
if not we play on the fox level
and all i am saying is that you will catch a good marth with a forward smash like once in a set MAYBE. all the other times you try it you will get tippered. There is Way too much lag.

DYC's definitely right, Demon. Falcon's got speed as his main advantage, but Marth's got a ton more range and more comboability. I would never think about using fsmash against a Marth. His sword has about twice as much range as your elbow does. If he's any good, he won't roll like you said. He'll either - A: WD backwards, hop in w/a double fair combo, wich will eventually (if you're playing on FD like you said) lead into a tipper (bye bye), or B: If you're at enough dmg already, he'll just tipper you from the start, possibly killing you. The ONLY smash attack you should ever DREAM about using is usmash. It can SOMETIMES be useful, but it's very conditional, so you just gotta know when to use it. Aerials are basically all Falcon has; That and his grab. What you mentioned about jumping and landing w/o doing an aerial CAN work, as it has for me a few times as well. But, it shouldn't be something you think about doing, as in planned. Maybe use that once or twice during a match just to throw'em off. But even then, you're basing that all on chance. The point here is to throw as much chance out the window. Even though it is an awesome setup if it works, too risky to be labeled "a useful technique". Stick w/aerials, and getting the hits in 1st, which will lead to combos...:)

you all are probly correct....i see the error of my ways lol
but also me and my friend got this game togheter so we so TOO well how each of us plays so now i then i try a new technique. it works once in a while
ohh and also i knew that the dsmash was only once in a while to be used and also the fsamsh.
(ive never see the double fsmash combo)
