($2.00 if you entered in the 3:00 PM Yu-Gi-Oh! event)
Your entry fee entitles you to the following:
Play others in Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, Vs. System or enter a side event.
What: Super Smash Bros: Melee 2vs2 Teams Tournament Side Event
Entry Fee: $10.00 per team (controller rental fee will still apply)

Rules of Play:
1. Tournament Format:
Players play one match per round. Matches will be best 2 out of 3.
- Swiss (The number of rounds will be determined by the number of participants - top 4 or 8 move on to single elimination)
- Round Robin may be used in place of Swiss if time allows.
2. 2 vs. 2 - Best 2 out of 3
Best 2 of 3 matches will be:
1st game - Random or Player Agreement character and stage.
2nd game - Loser from first game may choose new stage or stage is reselected randomly. Winner may choose a new character. Loser may choose a new character.
3rd game (if needed) - Loser from second game may choose new stage or stage is reselected randomly. Winner may choose a new character. Loser may choose a new character.
3. Game Settings:
1) VS. Mode
2) Melee Mode
3) Pick Character (Random or player agreement)
4) Custom Rules
- Stock = 4
- Handicap = OFF
- Damage Ratio = 1
- Stage Selection = Random or Player Agreement. The following levels will be available when choosing random pick:
Battlefield, Kirby 64, Final Destination and Pokemon Stadium.
The following levels are Banned:
Hyrule Temple, Brinstar Depths, Pokefloats, Icicle Mountain, Yoshi's Island 64, Kongo Jungle, Flatzone, and Big Blue.
* Stages that are not banned can be counterpicked but any stage can be used upon both players agreement. Players can/should use their better judgment when picking a stage. Stages should be selected based on the available time and the suitability of the stage for the format (2 vs. 2 teams). Basically, players can agree to use a stage even if it is not listed; however, choosing a stage that will obviously take 20-25 minutes to finish or makes team matches difficult to play is not acceptable.

5) Additional Rules
- Stock Match Time Limit = 12:00
- Friendly Fire = ON
- Pause = ON
- Score Display = OFF
- Self Destructs = 0
- Random Stage
4. No memory cards or saved games allowed. (A store copy with all characters unlocked may be available)
5. Controllers can be supplied by the store for a $2.00 rental fee. However, you may use your own controller as long as it is pre-approved by a member of the Great Traditions staff prior to the start of the tournament (please label your controller for identification if possible). If a controller is defective, a player can pause the game and notify the referee. If a player plays with a defective controller, all results are counted.
6. Interruptions: If a game is interrupted through no fault of the players, the current run will be restarted. If the interruption is the fault of any player, that player may be disqualified.
7. All characters are available. Players have one minute to pick a character (see Rule 3-3), if both players have not picked in one minute then a double blind pick is made.
8. No sudden death; ties go to the leader in %. In case of a tie of % (very rare) then Sudden Death is played out.
9. Controller Configuration: Any can be used.
10. Unnecessary pauses or delays are prohibited.
11. No cheats, hacks or use of soft spots or glitches will be permitted. Violators will be immediately disqualified.
12. The ESRB has rated Super Smash Bros: Melee, “T” for Teen. Participants must be 13 or older or have parental approval as per their Great Traditions registration sheet.
